PIT5284C2017-10-15. Service bulletin. SEATS. This Preliminary Information communication provides information to the technician on how to diagnose and repair vehicles that may have a rattle noise from the second row seat. Technician will need to inspect the striker not aligned properly in latch opening. To repair this condition, rework/adjust the striker in the direction to center it in the latch opening. An adjustable wide mouth metal working tool may be used to adjust the striker just enough to center in the latch opening. Technician may find a seat bottom latch may have an unequal latch opening side-to-side for the striker to seat into. To repair this condition, with the affected seat in the tumbled forward position, while applying steady, firm pressure, cycle the seat down into the latched position. Some vehicles built prior to 09/21/2015 with 60/40 Split Bench Seat may have 60-percent long side bench, inboard latch may not be properly aligned in striker opening. Technician will need to place a 2.6 mm thick flat washer over the 40 percent seat base stud, not the floor stud. Some vehicles may have a seat base plat that rattles against the rib in the floor pan. Apply Mylar tape to the floor pan under the seat plate to provide relief for the rattle condition.
PIT54342017-08-15. Service bulletin. SEATS; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. This Preliminary Information communication provides information to the technician only to provide additional tips when diagnosing a front heated seat concern and is not meant to be a diagnostic flow chart or replace Service Information. Always, perform and refer to Service Information for the latest diagnostic information and procedures. Trucks equipped with heated and cooled seats Regular Production Option Code (KB6), may comment on any of the following front heated seat concerns. Condition 1, a front heated seat (back and/or cushion) is inoperative. Technician should diagnosis each affected seat heater individually. Technician should test all four circuits Power, Ground, Control (from Body Control Module) and Heating Element Supply Power. The Power, Ground, Control (from Body Control Module) can easily be checked by starting the engine and turn on the cooled seat. When the cooled seats are turned on the blower in each seat back and cushion will turn on at that point technician will be able to hear the blower moving. The heating element supply power circuit can be test by disconnecting the affected heating element and connect a voltmeter across the heating element supply power and ground circuit. Then start the engine and turn on the heated seat, the blower will supply system voltage on the element supply power circuit for 1 to 2 seconds. With the heated seat element disconnected, use an ohmmeter to measure the resistance of the heating element. If all of the above steps check ok or the heating element resistance is close to the approximate spec, reconnect all disconnected connectors. Connect a voltmeter across the affected heated seat element connectors supply power and ground circuits back probing the connector. Then check the resistance of the heating element. The resistance should be close to the same resistance as when testing with the connector unplugged. Now check the voltage with the engine running and the heated sets on high. Condition 2, the front heate

PIT5279B2017-08-15. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM; SEATS. This Preliminary Information communication provides information to the technician for vehicles that exhibit a driver?s power memory seat and power adjustable pedals inoperative. If the center seat belt from the roof is connected to the seat belt buckle or any of the seat belt buckles not properly stowed in the seat cushion pockets this will prevent the seat from properly folding. Also check under the 60% seat for the wire harness routing. If the harness is not routed correctly or seat connector is not properly attached to the seat bracket the seat will not fold down correctly. If the wire harness or connector is found out of place, reroute the seat harness or use a zip tie for the connector to the bracket. If the concern is still present remove the two rubber bumpers form the 60% seat side rails. After removing the rubber bumpers install a piece of Kent Automotive BRS Flocking tape P/N KT13487, or equivalent, in place of the rubber bumper.
