Service bulletins for the 2013 GMC Savana
A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

| PIP4112M | 2017-08-15. Service bulletin. POWER TRAIN:AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION. This Preliminary Information communication provides information to the technician of a complaint of a sag or hesitation when accelerating. The concern is present when coasting at low speeds of less than 15 miles per hour and then aggressively applying the throttle, or after making a hard stop followed by an aggressive throttle. This is considered normal operation of the vehicle the throttle is delayed and opened slowly up to .7 seconds to help minimize driveline lash and clunking or will have approximately .5 seconds of zero torque to allow the transmission to shift to first gear. |

This Preliminary Information communication provides information to the technician about vehicles that have a harsh shift or illuminated Malfunction Indicator Lamp. Technician may find Diagnostic Trouble Code P0716 or P0717 stored in the Transmission Control Module. Technician will need to check circuit 1984. Technician should use tool J 44152 on the engine side of the transmission inline 20-way connector. Technician should install a test light on terminal E and V. If the test light does not light unplug the Transmission Control Module connector and check for continuity across pins 45 and 49. If there is no continuity replace the Transmission Control Module and the Input Speed Sensor. If there is continuity across pins 45 and 49 replace the Input Speed Sensor only. Technician should contact General Motors Technical Assistance Center for further assistance if the vehicle returns with the same concern and Diagnostic Trouble Code P0717 resets. |

| PIP5071 | 2017-08-15. Service bulletin. POWER TRAIN:AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION; POWER TRAIN. This Preliminary Information communication provides information to the technician about vehicle that has a squawk or grunt type noise when shifting from 2nd to 3rd gear. Technician should replace the 3-4 clutch Friction and Steel Clutch Plates along with the Apply Plate and Selective Backing Plate. |
| PIP5065 | 2017-08-15. Service bulletin. POWER TRAIN:AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION. This Preliminary Information communication provides information to the technician about vehicles that may have a ticking noise when driving above 30 miles per hour in third and fourth gear. Technician will need to replace the Reaction Carrier and the Low and Reverse Roller Clutch. |
| PIT5206C | 2017-08-15. Service bulletin. SERVICE BRAKES; POWER TRAIN:AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION:CONTROL MODULE (TCM/PCM/TECM); SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC:PEDALS AND LINKAGES. This Preliminary Information communication provides information to the technician with the steps on diagnosing and repairing vehicles that may have unwanted grade braking, reduced engine power with no Driver Information Center messages ? Brake Pedal Override Feature ?, transmission busy or frequent shifting up or down, and Diagnostic Trouble Codes P057B, P057C, and/or P057D may or may not be set. Technician will use this preliminary information to find the brake pedal position data parameters in the scan tool, and also to provide some additional diagnostic help. These issues may be caused by an incorrect brake pedal position sensor input to the engine control module. Technician will verify with the scan tool if the engine control module has the correct parameters for the brake pedal position sensor. If an engine control module brake pedal position sensor relearn is performed, the truck may be temporarily repaired until the intermittent wiring issue between the engine control module and brake pedal position sensor occurs again. On 2014 and newer trucks inspect and repair any damage to X115 and X119. On the 2014 and previous trucks inspect and repair any damage to X205. |
