| 07V342000 | 2007-08-07. EXTERIOR LIGHTING:BRAKE LIGHTS. CERTAIN VANS FAIL TO CONFORM TO THE REQUIREMENTS OF FEDERAL MOTOR VEHICLE SAFETY STANDARD NO. 108, "LAMPS, REFLECTIVE DEVICES, AND ASSOCIATED EQUIPMENT." WHEN THE BRAKES ARE APPLIED, THE STOP LAMPS WILL ILLUMINATE. WHEN THE BRAKE PEDAL IS RELEASED, THE STOP LAMPS ARE NO LONGER ILLUMINATED BUT THE REAR BRAKES MAY STILL BE APPLIED. | 2023210 | 2023-04-06. Electrical. Issue: On certain vehicles, an unused wiring harness for a rear HVAC blower motor, located in the left B-pillar area, could become damaged if exposed to moisture or contaminants. If this happens, the wires could short circuit. Note: This recall only affects cutaway chassis incomplete vehicles. Safety Risk: A short circuit can create the risk of a fire. Corrective Actions: General Motors will notify owners by mail and instruct you to bring your vehicle to a dealership to seal the wiring for the rear HVAC blower motor at the left B-pillar. |
|---|---|
| 2007260 | 2007-08-09. Brakes. Certain vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of CMVSS 108, requiring the illumination of the stop lamps whenever the brakes are applied. The rear brakes may still be applied although the brake pedal is released and the stop lamps are no longer illuminated. A vehicle driven with the brakes applied can cause overheating of the brakes, resulting in increased stopping distance. Extended stopping distances can lead to a vehicle crash with injury or death. Correction: Dealers will reprogram the Anti-lock Brake System (ABS) module. |
