This Preliminary Information communication provides information to the technician about vehicles that the Malfunction Indicator Lamp is illuminated and the vehicle has a harsh 1-2 shift. Technician may find Diagnostic Trouble Code P0741 set in the Transmission Control Module. Technician will need to replace the torque converter clutch solenoid and wire harness with part number 24237980.

THIS CONDITION MAY ALSO SET DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE (DTC) P0741 IN THE TRANSMISSION CONTROL MODULE (TCM). IF DTC P0741 IS FOUND, DEALERS ARE TO REPLACE THE AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION WIRING HARNESS.
