Service bulletins for the 2018 Freightliner Cascadia
A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

| SB54-333 | 2020-07-30. Service bulletin. EXTERIOR LIGHTING; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. Service Bulletin for Installing a Fog Lamp Backshell. The connector that attaches to the fog lamp is exposed to water spray from the front tires. Even though the connector is sealed, water spray, in addition to wiring that may be pulled sideways, can cause water intrusion into the connector. A backshell can be added to the connector to provide shielding from direct water spray. It also provides strain relief for the wires entering the connector. |

| 20CSA-09 | 2020-07-28. Service bulletin. ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING. Customer Service Announcement for DiagnosticLink Software Update Reminder. Due to various software changes and fixes, vehicles will require DiagnosticLink 8.12 to perform functional programming. Failure to use this version may cause errors, incomplete programming, and poor vehicle performance. Because of this, all DiagnosticLink 8.09 installed versions will be disabled as of Thursday, July 23, 2020. |
| SS1034758 | 2020-07-28. Service bulletin. EQUIPMENT:ELECTRICAL; VISIBILITY. Service Solution for New Cascadia Window Regulator Motor Stop Working. | SB54-330 | 2020-07-02. Service bulletin. ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING. Freightliner Service Bulletin for Compressor Bracket Modification to Reduce Harness Chafing. New Cascadia vehicles with Detroit HDEP engines may experience engine harness chafing at the harness support bracket that mounts on the air compressor. To avoid this issue, a new hole is drilled on the bracket to enhance the spacing with tie straps and reduce harness contact with the mounting bolt. Additional harness wrapping is added to reduce the harness chafing. |

Some New Cascadia vehicles with chassis fairings have remote-fill Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF) tanks which have new instructions to replace the remote fill hose and fitting. The gasket on the fill fitting is sensitive to improper installation, and can get pinched, resulting in a DEF leak. |
| CALFTL54-007 | 2020-05-23. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. Customer Advisory Letter for Cab-to-Chassis Redundant Ground Strap Installation - FTL Service Bulletin 54-318. Our records indicate that you are the owner of certain vehicles, and DTNA has decided to share the following documentation with you. On New Cascadia vehicles Penske/Black Horse units built prior to May 23, 2019, cab wiring can be damaged with an incorrect ground location or loose ground connections. This can result in inoperable LIN bus-related steering wheel switches, cruise control dropout, poor AM/FM radio reception, and an inoperable steering wheel clockspring. Installing a redundant ground strap from the main ground junction block (MGJB) to the frame will protect the vehicle from unexpected loss of cab grounding, and restore proper operation of the steering wheel switches, the radio, and the steering wheel clockspring. |
