The updated after treatment system (ATS) diesel exhaust fluid (DEF) pump times will be applied to repair orders opened on or after April 12, 2021.
SF6212021-04-21. Service bulletin. STEERING. Freightliner Field Service Campaign for Freightliner Drag Link Cotter Pin. Errors found in the cotter pin installation process indicate that it may not have been completed properly. This may result in the cotter pin not being bent correctly or missing altogether.
SB54-3282021-04-01. Service bulletin. POWER TRAIN. Updated Freightliner Service Bulletin for Rerouting Wiring Harness to Reduce Chafing. This bulletin replaces the version dated 06/29/2020. Two new illustrations have been added to demonstrate proper application of butterfly tie straps on the transmission. ---Allison transmission wiring harness chafing causes disruption to gear engagement and fault code generation. To reduce chafing, the wiring is routed using stand off brackets and tie straps to minimize contact with the transmission parts. This bulletin applies to vehicles equipped with on-board diagnostics (OBDs) manufactured after 2016.

A design change removed the magnets from the fill necks for some 6-gallon diesel exhaust fluid (DEF) tanks. If the vehicle is equipped with a non-magnetic fill neck 04-32529-000, it can be updated to a magnetic neck 04-32529-001. This bulletin replaces the version dated 04/18/2017. Updated availability of magnetic fill neck option for other diesel exhaust fluid (DEF) tank part numbers.

Detroit's TechComm team created visual aids for the network and released exploded view posters for DD platform engines. In early 2021, Detroit added multiple DT12 posters.

Current subscribers of DiagnosticLink 8.11 or 8.12 may upgrade to DiagnosticLink 8.13 at no cost. All DTNA Service shops & OEM locations are required to maintain the latest version of software on each of their stations.

SS10347972021-02-04. Service bulletin. ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING. Service Solution for M2 108SD 114SD Coolant Level Sensor PN 06-93316-002. This bulletin was updated 1/28/2021 to reflect the removal of the backshell P/N 23-13302-633, as the added length of the backshell makes it difficult to route the harness around the lower mounting bolt of the surge tank.
SB35-0362020-12-30. Service bulletin. POWER TRAIN. Revised Freightliner Service Bulletin for Axle Flange Gasket Replaced with O-Ring. Revision removed steps instructing removal and installation of wheels. Daimler Trucks North America has released a new axle shaft to hub rubber O-ring (part number 11-30728-000) as a replacement for the paper gasket (part number 11-14418-000). The new O-ring will provide better sealing and is reusable. It is quicker and easier to use compared to the paper gasket, because using a paper gasket requires cleaning the hub when the axle shaft is removed.
SB42-0792020-12-30. Service bulletin. SERVICE BRAKES. Freightliner Service Bulletin for Access to Front Brake Zerk Fittings. Certain vehicles with Detroit front axles and Meritor EX-L front air disc brakes do not have access to the front brake zerk fittings for lubrication.

With Mascot now in partnership with Detroit Reman and Alliance Parts, DTNA is pleased to announce that Mascot coverage has been added to OWL. Remanufactured Alliance/Mascot parts include transmission, differential, steering gear, and steering pump used in an on-highway vehicle applications. The Alliance/Mascot aftermarket warranty coverage period has not changed: depending on the part, coverage is for one (1) or two (2) years and current parts, labor, and reimbursement policies apply.
