(Forest River) is recalling certain 2014-2019 Forest River Salem, Wildcat Maxx, Wildwood, Vibe, and Rainier recreational trailers. The break-away safety switch may not have been wired to a constant power source, and, as a result, the switch may be inadvertently disconnected from the trailer house battery causing the brakes to not engage if the trailer detaches from the tow vehicle. | 2018438 | 2018-08-21. Electrical. On certain travel trailers, the trailer break-away safety switch may not be properly wired. When the battery disconnect is switched off, the electrical power to the switch could be lost. In the unlikely event that the trailer separates from the tow vehicle, the trailer brakes may not apply, increasing the risk of a crash causing injury and/or damage to property. Correction: Dealers will install a new wiring harness which supplies constant power to the break-away safety switch. |

| 2017446 | 2017-09-15. Other. On certain travel trailers, due to insufficient clearance, the Liquid Propane (LP) lines may come in contact with the axle shackle. If this occurs, the LP lines could be damaged by the shackle which could cause a propane leak. A propane leak in the presence of an ignition source could increase the risk of fire causing injury and/or damage to property. Correction: Dealers will install longer LP lines and reroute them away from the axle shackle area. |
