20195942019-11-25. Structure. Issue: The trailer hitch coupler installed on certain travel trailers may not be strong enough to support the weight of the trailer. As a result, the trailer could disconnect from the tow vehicle. Safety Risk: A travel trailer that disconnects from the tow vehicle creates the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: Forest River will notify owners by mail within 60 days of the recall date. The corrective actions for this recall are still being finalized.
20185862018-10-25. Accessories. On certain travel trailers, the fasteners used to mount the awning arms to the sidewall are insufficient. This could allow the awning arms to detach from the sidewall, creating a risk of injury and/or property damage. Correction: Dealers will install the correct number of fasteners of the correct length to properly secure the awning arms.
20181542018-04-03. Accessories. On certain vehicles, the valve fitting on low flow propane gas line to the refrigerator may have been adjusted improperly. This could create the potential for a propane leak, which in the presence of an ignition source could lead to a fire and/or an explosion, increasing the risk of injury and/or damage to property. Correction: Dealers will ensure the pressure tap nut is present and is tightened to proper specification.
20180312018-01-15. Lights And Instruments. Certain travel trailers may fail to comply with the requirements of CMVSS 108 - Lighting System and Retroreflective Devices. The vehicles may have not been equipped with reflectors, contrary to requirements of the standard. This could decrease vehicle conspicuity and potentially increase the risk of a crash causing injury and/or damage to property. Correction: Vehicles will be fitted with the missing reflectors.
20176402017-12-18. Electrical. On certain travel trailers, a 110v and 12v wire may get pinched between the chassis and the body of the vehicle. This could result in a short circuit increasing the risk of fire causing injury and/or damage to property. Correction: Dealers will route the 110v and 12v wires away from any potential pinch point.
20176102017-12-06. Accessories. On certain motorhomes equipped with Kidde fire extinguishers with black plastic handles and valves, the fire extinguishers may become clogged or require excessive force to activate. Also, the nozzle may detach from the valve assembly with enough force that it could cause injury, and fail to discharge. In case of fire, failure of the extinguisher to function could result in injury and/or property damage. Correction: Owners will be provided with instructions on how to inspect the fire extinguisher to see if it is recalled. Replacement fire extinguishers will be supplied by Kidde directly. Note: For more information about recalled fire extinguishers, please visit www.kidde.com.
20175502017-11-09. Accessories. On certain travel trailers, the generators exhaust pipe is mounted to close to the plastic underbelly. Overtime, this could cause the plastic underbelly to melt increasing the risk of fire causing injury and/or damage to property. Correction: Dealers will lower the exhaust pipe away from the plastic underbelly.
