Some 2016-2017 Ford and Lincoln vehicles equipped with SYNC 3 version 2.2 software may exhibit a blank screen after attempting to exit Valet mode. SYNC software updates are now available under the OASIS Tab SYNC selection. If update is available, refer to WSM Section 415-00 and update APIM software. For claiming, use causal part 14G371 and applicable labor operations in section 10 of the SLTS manual.
SSM 469482018-01-29. Service bulletin. EQUIPMENT:ELECTRICAL:NAVIGATIONAL SYSTEM(GLOBAL POSITIONING SYSTEM); ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. Some owners of 2016-2017 Ford and Lincoln vehicles equipped with SYNC 3 may experience inoperative mobile device navigation applications. Mobile device navigation via AppLink requires SYNC 3 version 2.3 or higher for Apple iOS users. Mobile device navigation via AppLink is not currently available for Android users. SYNC software updates are now available under the OASIS Tab SYNC selection. If an update is available refer to WSM, Section 415-00 and update APIM software. SYNC 3 software upgrade to support these apps is not a warrantable repair per the Warranty And Policy Manual, Section 3, Warranty Coverages SYNC.

WHEN INSTALLING THE NEW ROOF SHADE THE WIRE HARNESS CONNECTOR FOR THE ROOF SHADE MODULE MAY NEED TO BE EXTENDED IN ORDER TO REACH THE NEW MODULE. EQUIPMENT ADAPTIVE/MOBILITY; ENGINE. 2013-2016 FIESTA, ESCAPE, TRANSIT CONNECT AND 2013 FUSION VEHICLES WITH A 1.6L GASOLINE TURBOCHARGED DIRECT INJECTION (GTDI) ENGINE MAY EXHIBIT AN ENGINE OIL LEVEL READING THAT IS UP TO 8 MM ABOVE THE MAXIMUM MARK ON THE ENGINE OIL DIPSTICK WHEN THE ENGINE IS FILLED WITH THE CORRECT AMOUNT OF OIL. THIS IS A NORMAL CHARACTERISTIC OF THIS ENGINE. DO NOT LOWER THE OIL LEVEL TO THE MAXIMUM MARK ON THE ENGINE OIL DIPSTICK IF THE ENGINE CONTAINS THE CORRECT AMOUNT OF OIL. ADDING OIL IS NOT REQUIRED IF THE LEVEL IS ABOVE THE MINIMUM MARK ON THE ENGINE OIL DIPSTICK. REFER TO THE OWNERS MANUAL FOR PROPER ENGINE OIL CAPACITY.

Radio and Front Display Anomalies REASON FOR THIS PROGRAM In some of the affected vehicles, the front control/display interface module (FCDIM) may have been unintentionally programmed for the European market instead of the North American market, resulting in the following symptoms: • The radio band cannot be changed from FM1 (the tuner may change to AM but the display continues to show FM1). • Satellite radio cannot be accessed. • The Europe-specific park distance control feature is enabled, and displays on the FCDIM when the forward vehicle speed drops below 6 mph (10 kph).

Additionally, on some of the affected vehicles that are equipped with the rear camera zoom feature, the body control module (BCM) may be misconfigured, causing the rear camera zoom feature to be inoperative

EQUIPMENT:APPLIANCE:AIR CONDITIONER. 2.5L - AIR CONDITIONING (A/C) INOPERATIVE AND/OR MESSAGE CENTER AMBIENT AIR TEMPERATURE DISPLAY INACCURATE - DTCS P0073, P0074 AND/OR U0422 ISSUE Some 2014-2016 Transit Connect vehicles equipped with 2.5L engine may exhibit an intermittent condition in which the ambient air temperature (AAT) display in the instrument panel cluster (IPC) is inaccurate and/or the A/C is inoperative. The inoperative A/C may be caused by the AAT reading below -1.1 °C (30 °F) the actual ambient temperature is above -1.1 °C (30 °F) with diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) P0073, P0074 and/or U0422.

AM INOPERATIVE AND/OR SATELLITE RADIO DISPLAY SHOWS - NOT EQUIPPED - BUILT ON 10/26/2015 AND THROUGH 1/20/2016 Some 2016 Transit Connect vehicles built on 10/26/15 and through 1/20/2016, equipped with SYNC and a 107 mm (4.2-inch) screen may exhibit a concern when selecting the AM radio function, the FM radio function appears and/or the satellite equipped radio display shows - not equipped, when selected. SERVICE PROCEDURE 1. When selecting the AM Radio function, does the radio change to FM and/or when selecting the satellite function, does the display show as - not equipped? a. Yes - proceed to Step 2. b. No - this article does not apply. Refer to Workshop Manual (WSM), Section 415-00 for normal diagnosis. 2. Reprogram the front control/display information module (FCDIM) to the latest calibration using Integrated Diagnostic System (IDS) release 99.04 or higher. Make sure you are connected to the internet when entering module programming to obtain the latest updates. Calibration files may also be obtained at www.motorcraftservice.com.
