Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain model year 2009-2012 Ford Flex, 2008 and 2010-2012 Ford Taurus, 2008-2009 Ford Taurus X, 2008 Mercury Sable, 2009 and 2011 Lincoln MKS vehicles. The driver frontal air bag may improperly inflate during second-stage deployment in the event of a high speed crash. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 208, "Occupant Crash Protection." Built 2007-10-05 to 2008-09-03. |

| 2016186 | 2016-04-26. Airbag. Certain vehicles may not comply with the requirements of Canada Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (CMVSS) 208 - Occupant Protection in Frontal Impacts. Due to an assembly error involving the driver’s frontal airbag, the second stage of the airbag may to fail to deploy. As a result, the vehicle may fail to meet the occupant protection requirements of the standard. This could increase the risk of injury to the seat occupant in a crash where second-stage airbag deployment is warranted. Correction: Dealers will inspect the driver airbag module and, if necessary, replace it. Note: The primary stage of the driver's airbag deployment is not affected. |
