Service bulletins for the 1998 Ford F-800

A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

01B742001-07-19. Service bulletin. SUSPENSION. SOME VEHICLES EQUIPPED WITH DSO HENDRICKSON AIR SUSPENSION OPTION HAVE EXPERIENCED CRACKED FRAMES AT THE TORQUE ROD ATTACHMENT TO THE LEFT HAND SIDE RAIL. THE STRESSES IMPOSED BY THE TORQUE ROD EXCEED THE MATERIAL YIELD STRENGTH CAUSING CRACKS TO OCCUR AT THE TORQUE ARM SHIM PLATE. THIS TORQUE ROD RETAINS THE HENDERICKSON AIR SUSPENSION FROM MOVING NORMAL TO THE FRAME RAIL WEB. *TT

The summaries are NHTSA's. Each bulletin's page links NHTSA's copy of the manufacturer's document.
