| SSM 47823 | 2019-04-08. Service bulletin. POWER TRAIN:AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION:CONTROL MODULE (TCM/PCM/TECM); ENGINE. Various 2013-2019 vehicles may exhibit an illuminated malfunction indicator lamp (MIL) with diagnostic trouble code (DTC) P264F after powertrain control module (PCM) replacement. This DTC indicates that the engine serial number (ESN) must be programmed into the PCM. The ESN is located on PTS> OASIS> Features> Engine Serial Number. Once the ESN is obtained from the historical vehicle bill of materials (HvBOM), it can be programmed into the PCM using the appropriate Ford diagnostic scan tool. Navigate to the toolbox tab> powertrain menu> Service Functions> ESN. |
| SSM 47852 | 2019-04-03. Service bulletin. ENGINE; EQUIPMENT. Some 2017-2019 F-Super Duty and 2016-2019 F-650/F-750 vehicles built on or after 1-Oct-2017 equipped with a 6.7L engine may exhibit an intermittent oil pressure warning lamp. A revised oil pressure switch has been released; service part number GC3Z-9278-B. For removal and installation of the oil pressure switch refer to Workshop Manual, Section 303-01C. Applicable labor operations in Section 10 of the Service Labor Time Standards (SLTS) Manual |
| TSB 19-2053 | 2019-04-02. Service bulletin. ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING; POWER TRAIN. Some 2017-2019 F-Super Duty chassis cab/dual rear wheel (DRW) pickup vehicles and 2016- 2019 F-650/F-750 vehicles equipped with a 6.7L engine may exhibit an oil consumption concern in applications where the engine is idled for extended periods of time. This may be due to high crankcase pressure as a result of the crankcase ventilation filter element becoming restricted. To resolve the concern, replace the crankcase vent oil separator. The new crankcase vent oil separator appears different from the old crankcase vent oil separator as it no longer includes a serviceable filter element. |
| SSM 47712 | 2019-03-04. Service bulletin. ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING:EXHAUST SYSTEM:EMISSION CONTROL; ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING:ENGINE:DIESEL; FUEL SYSTEM, DIESEL. Some 2017-2019 F-Super Duty and 2016-2019 F650-750 with 6.7L diesel engines, 2015-2019 Transit with 3.2L diesel engines and 2018-2019 F-150 with 3.0L diesel engines may exhibit an illuminated malfunction indicator lamp (MIL) with diagnostic trouble code (DTC) P206C in the powertrain control module (PCM). Review of repair data supports that P206C is often the result of incorrect diesel exhaust fluid (DEF) concentration. Per Powertrain Control/Emissions Diagnosis (PC/ED) Pinpoint Test (PPT) RJ, a DEF concentration reading below 28% will set P206C and cause vehicle derate. If low concentration is suspected, drain fluid and replace with known good DEF before replacing any parts. Low concentration of DEF is not a warrantable condition. |
| TSB 19-2006 | 2019-03-04. Service bulletin. ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING:ENGINE:DIESEL; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM; FUEL SYSTEM, DIESEL. Some 2016-2018 F-650/F-750 vehicles equipped with a 6.7L diesel engine built on or before 23-Apr-2018 may exhibit an inaccurate DEF level gauge with no DEF level related diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) in the powertrain control module (PCM). | SSM 47641 | 2019-01-07. Service bulletin. ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING:EXHAUST SYSTEM:EMISSION CONTROL:GAS RECIRCULATION VALVE (EGR VALVE); ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING:EXHAUST SYSTEM:MANIFOLD/HEADER/MUFFLER/TAIL PIPE. Some 2011-2019 F-Super Duty, 2015-2019 Transit, 2016-2019 F-650/F-750 and 2018 F-150 vehicles equipped with a 6.7L, 3.2L or 3.0L engine may exhibit an illuminated MIL with diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) P207F, P20EE, P229F, P2201 and/or P24AE. This may be a result of using aftermarket cleaning liquids or tools for the exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) cooler or intake. Ford does not recommend the cleaning of diesel intakes or EGR coolers using any aftermarket tool that injects a cleaning foam or liquid substance into the EGR cooler or intake. Using these types of fluids can result in sodium poisoning of the NOx and particulate matter (PM) sensors resulting in degraded operation and permanent damage to the aftertreatment system. Use of these cleaning tools may void the emissions warranty of the hot end aftertreatment exhaust system and the attached emissions sensors. |

This may be due to incorrect diesel exhaust fluid (DEF) concentration. Prior to performing Powertrain Control and Emissions Diagnosis (PC/ED) pinpoint test RJ, ensure DEF concentration is checked using Central Tools Refractometer tool number CEN3R201 and if DEF contamination is suspected use the Rotunda Hydrocarbon Test Kit tool number 328-480508. |
| SSM 47028 | 2018-06-11. Service bulletin. ENGINE. Some 2011-2018 F-Super Duty 6.7L diesel equipped vehicles may exhibit a ticking noise at idle after an engine oil change. It is often referred to as Typewriter Noise because of its similarity to the sound of a mechanical typewriter. When engine temperatures reach 150 Å?F (65 Å?C) or higher, (from engine idle up to approximately 1700 RPM's), this noise can typically be heard at the front wheel well and is often isolated to the transmission bell housing or oil pan area. Typewriter Noise is not detrimental to engine function or durability and has no short or long term effects on the engine. Do not attempt repairs to eliminate this noise. This noise is characteristic of the 6.7L diesel engine and will typically cease or diminish significantly within the oil change maintenance interval. |
| SSM 47006 | 2018-06-11. Service bulletin. ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING:EXHAUST SYSTEM. All 2016 F-650 and F-750 vehicles built before 1-Apr-2016 requiring replacement of the reductant pump control module also requires replacement of the 14407 wiring harness which is included with the module service part. The current level service replacement module is not compatible with the harness on early build vehicles. |
| SSM 47028 | 2018-05-29. Service bulletin. ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING. |
| SSM 47006 | 2018-05-29. Service bulletin. ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING. All 2016 F-650 and F-750 vehicles built before 1-Apr-2016 requiring replacement of the reductant pump control module also requires replacement of the 14407 wiring harness which is included with the module service part. The current level service replacement module is not compatible with the harness on early build vehicles. |
| SSM 47266 | 2018-05-21. Service bulletin. ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING:EXHAUST SYSTEM. Some 2016-2018 F-650/F-750 vehicles equipped with a 6.7L diesel engine may exhibit an illuminated malfunction indicator lamp (MIL) with DTC P20EE stored in the powertrain control module (PCM). When diagnosing this DTC, if pinpoint test (PPT) RD leads to Step RD27, proceed to Step RD28. This is due to PID NOx12 (NUM) incorrectly reading NOx11 (NUM) in the PCM. The NOx12 (NUM) PID will read the same as the NOx11 (NUM) PID. If the NOx Catalyst Conversion Efficiency Value PID reads less than 60% in Step RD28, replace the nitrogen oxides (NOx) sensor 12 and retest before replacing the selective catalyst reduction (SCR) catalyst. Engineering is investigating, monitor OASIS for updates. |
| SSM 47110 | 2018-05-14. Service bulletin. ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING:EXHAUST SYSTEM. Some 2017-2018 F-Super Duty/2016-2018 F650-750 with 6.7L diesel engines and 2015-2018 Transit with 3.2L diesel engines may exhibit a MIL on with diagnostic trouble code (DTC) P206C in the powertrain control module (PCM). This may be due to incorrect diesel exhaust fluid (DEF) concentration. Prior to performing Powertrain Control/Emissions Diagnosis (PC/ED) pinpoint test RJ, confirm DEF concentration using IDS to monitor REDUCT_CONC_MES. This PID reading may fluctuate between 31% and 34% indicating DEF concentration is correct. A concentration reading below 28% will set P206C and cause vehicle derate. This reading may also be checked using Central Tools Refractometer (CEN3R201) which should indicate a similar percentage as the PID. Low concentration of DEF is not a warrantable condition. If low concentration is suspected, drain fluid and replace with known good DEF before replacing any parts. |
