Service bulletins for the 2017 Ford F-250
A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

| SSM 46099 | 2017-08-01. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:IGNITION; ENGINE. 2017 F-Super Duty vehicles with keyless ignition (push button start) are equipped with a feature that automatically shuts down the engine if it has been idling with no activity for an extended period (approximately 30 minutes). This is a normal operating characteristic. Before the engine shuts down, a message appears in the information display showing a timer counting down from 30 seconds. If the customer does not intervene within 30 seconds, the engine shuts down. The customer cannot permanently disable the automatic engine shutdown feature but can disable it temporarily for each intended use using the instrument cluster message center on the current ignition key cycle. |
