Service bulletins for the 2016 Ford Explorer

A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

212 on file from NHTSA, as of 2026-10-19.

TSB 19-20502019-04-08. Service bulletin. VISIBILITY:POWER WINDOW DEVICES AND CONTROLS; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. Some 2016-2017 Explorer vehicles may exhibit front window glass that jumps/chatters during up/down movement. This may be due to various conditions in the window motor including excessive drive gear backlash, bushing wear, and/or excessive endplay. To resolve the concern, replace the door glass top run, door glass, window regulator, window motor and wiring harness.

The summaries are NHTSA's. Each bulletin's page links NHTSA's copy of the manufacturer's document.
