Service bulletins for the 2020 Ford Edge

A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

162 on file from NHTSA, as of 2026-10-19.

Bulletins, newest first
SSM 495712021-03-03. Service bulletin. POWER TRAIN. Some 2019-2021 Edge/Nautilus, 2020-2021 Escape/Corsair, 2021 Bronco Sport vehicles equipped with all wheel drive (AWD) may exhibit chatter/shudder during low speed turning events due to fluid contamination. Drain and refill the rear drive unit (RDU), refer to Workshop Manual Section (WSM) 205-02. Drive for 8 km (5 miles) in stop and go conditions with right and left turns and re-evaluate. If the issue is still present, continue with WSM diagnostics. For claiming, use base (4000) causal part.
SSM 493452020-12-04. Service bulletin. POWER TRAIN; EQUIPMENT ADAPTIVE/MOBILITY; EQUIPMENT. Some 2020 Edge/Nautilus/Escape/Corsair/Transit Connect vehicles with and 8F35/8F40 transmission built on or before 30-Sep-2020 may exhibit an illuminated powertrain malfunction (wrench) indicator with diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) P0741 and/or P1744 present or stored in the powertrain control module (PCM). This may be due to the torque converter and a pump stator bushing leak. Replacement of only the torque converter and/or the main control may not resolve the concern. To correct the condition, replace the following components: the torque converter, fluid pump assembly, both fluid filters, main control, input shaft, and flush the transmission cooling system.
SSM 492922020-11-04. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:SOFTWARE; POWER TRAIN:AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION:CONTROL MODULE (TCM/PCM/TECM). Some 2018-2020 Ford and Lincoln vehicles may exhibit inoperative remote features via the Ford Pass/Lincoln Way mobile app, incomplete user authorization, no modem electronic serial number (ESN) displayed or DTCs U2100 and/or B156D in the telematics control unit (TCU). These symptoms may persist even after performing a TCU software update and/or replacement. To correct this condition, start a new session with the latest version of the appropriate diagnostic scan tool and perform a PMI on the TCU. If issues persist, open a hotline assistance request and include the IDS version (if applicable) used to perform the PMI and the Authorization Status PID value in the TCU datalogger. For claiming use causal part 14H092 and applicable labor times in Section 10 of the Service Labor Time Standards (SLTS) Manual.
TSB 20-21902020-07-06. Service bulletin. POWER TRAIN:DRIVELINE; POWER TRAIN:MANUAL TRANSMISSION:COLUMN SHIFT ASSEMBLY. Some 2019-2020 Edge/Nautilus vehicles equipped with an 8F57 transmission may exhibit a harsh engagement when shifting from PARK to REVERSE, PARK to DRIVE and/or REVERSE to DRIVE with no DTCs present. The vehicle may also exhibit a harsh upshift and downshift. These harsh engagements may result in an engagement clunk from the driveline. This may be due to various powertrain control module (PCM) software parameters for harsh engagements when shifting from various shifter selector positions. To correct the condition, follow the Service Procedure to reprogram the PCM.
TSB 20-21512020-06-04. Service bulletin. POWER TRAIN:AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION:CONTROL MODULE (TCM/PCM/TECM); SERVICE BRAKES. Some 2019-2020 Edge/Nautilus vehicles equipped with 2.0L EcoBoost engines built on or before 24-Jan-2020 may exhibit an illuminated malfunction indicator lamp (MIL) with diagnostic trouble code (DTC) P2282 stored in the powertrain control module (PCM). This concern may be due to an intermittently stuck open brake vacuum tube assembly causing an uncommanded high air flow intake manifold leak. To resolve the condition, replace the brake vacuum tube assembly.
SSM 485792020-03-03. Service bulletin. EQUIPMENT; POWER TRAIN. Some 2018-2020 vehicles equipped with the 8F24, 8F35, 8F40, or 8F57 transmissions may have a trace amount of transmission fluid in the main control electrical connector. This is due to the connector being submerged in transmission fluid during the main control manufacturing process. A trace amount should be considered normal and will not affect the function of the transmission. Do not attempt a repair for this condition. If more than a trace amount of fluid is found, follow normal diagnostics in the Workshop Manual(WSM), Section 307-01>Diagnosis and Testing>Leakage Inspection.
SSM 484232020-01-08. Service bulletin. POWER TRAIN. Some 2015-2020 Ford and Lincoln vehicles may exhibit an illuminated MIL with diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) P0011, P0012, P0014, P0015, P0016, P0017, P0018, P0019, P0021, P0022, P0024 and/or P0025. This may be due to small debris causing the VCT solenoid to stick. Before attempting any component diagnosis or replacement of the VCT solenoid, refer to Powertrain Control and Emissions Diagnosis (PC/ED) pinpoint test HK11 to cycle the affected VCT solenoid 10 times to attempt to clear the debris. For claiming, use causal part 6M280 and applicable labor operations in Section 10 of the Service Labor Time Standards (SLTS) Manual.
TSB 19-23862020-01-07. Service bulletin. POWER TRAIN. Some 2019-2020 Edge/Nautilus/Transit Connect and 2020 Escape/Corsair vehicles equipped with a 8F35 transmission may exhibit an illuminated malfunction indicator lamp (MIL) with diagnostic trouble code (DTC) P0766 stored in the powertrain control module (PCM) and/or intermittent no reverse engagement concerns. This may be due to contamination in the main control valve body separator plate orifice. To correct the condition, follow the Service Procedure steps to clean the contamination from the main control plate.
