SSM 503062021-12-07. Service bulletin. ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING. Some 2018-2021 EcoSport, Expedition, Navigator; 2019-2021 Ranger; 2020-2021 Escape, Corsair, Explorer, Transit; 2021 Bronco, Bronco Sport, Edge, Nautilus, F-150, Mustang; 2019-2022 Transit Connect; 2020-2022 Aviator, F-Super Duty; and 2022 Maverick vehicles may exhibit an illuminated malfunction indicator lamp (MIL) with diagnostic trouble codes (DTC) P0496, P0456, P0455, P04F0, and/or P0451. Ford has tested returned EVAP canister purge valves and found them to be fully functional. Prior to replacing the canister purge valve or other EVAP components, perform the following tests using the Ford Diagnosis and Repair System (FDRS) Scan Tool: Full System EVAP Leak Test - FDRS Location: TOOLBOX > PCM > PCM - Evap Emissions System Test and the EVAP Purge Valve Leak Test - FDRS Location: TOOLBOX > PCM > Evap Emission System Toolbox > CPV Check.
SSM 499182021-07-02. Service bulletin. ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING. Some 2016-2018 Focus and 2018-2019 EcoSport vehicles equipped with a 1.0L EcoBoost engine, 6F15 automatic transmission and built on or before 3-Jul-2019 may exhibit an illuminated oil pressure warning lamp with a loss of engine oil pressure. This may be due to a failed engine oil pump belt tensioner. If engine oil pressure at idle is below 10 psi (refer to Section 303-00 in the Workshop Manual for the oil pressure test procedure) and/or metal contamination is present in the engine oil, replace the engine assembly with a long block option 6006 and the turbocharger.
SSM 498432021-07-02. Service bulletin. ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING. Some 2016-2018 Focus and 2018-2019 EcoSport vehicles equipped with a 1.0L EcoBoost engine, 6F15 automatic transmission and built on or before 3-Jul-2019 may exhibit an illuminated oil pressure warning lamp with a loss of engine oil pressure. This may be due to a failed engine oil pump belt tensioner which leads to a loss of engine oil pressure. If engine oil pressure at idle is below 10 psi (refer to Section 303-00 in the Workshop Manual for the oil pressure test procedure) and/or metal contamination is present in the engine oil, no further diagnostics should be performed. Replace the engine assembly with a long block option 6006 to correct this condition.
SSM 498212021-06-01. Service bulletin. POWER TRAIN:AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION; ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING. Some 2015-2021 Ford and Lincoln vehicles may exhibit an illuminated MIL with diagnostic trouble codes (DTC) P0011, P0012, P0014, P0015, P0016, P0017, P0018, P0019, P0021, P0022, P0024 and/or P0025. This may be due to small debris causing the VCT solenoid to stick. Before attempting any component diagnosis or replacement of the VCT solenoid, refer to Powertrain Control and Emissions Diagnosis (PC/ED) pinpoint test HK11 to cycle the affected VCT solenoid 10 times to attempt to clear the debris. For claiming, use causal part 6M280 and applicable labor operations in Section 10 of the Service Labor Time Standards (SLTS) Manual.
SSM 497262021-05-03. Service bulletin. ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING. Some 2016-2018 Focus and 2018-2019 EcoSport vehicles equipped with a 1.0L EcoBoost engine, 6F15 automatic transmission and built on or before 3-Jul-2019, may exhibit an illuminated oil pressure warning lamp with a loss of engine oil pressure. This may be due to a failed engine oil pump belt tensioner which leads to a loss of engine oil pressure. If engine oil pressure at idle is below 10 psi and/or metal contamination is present in the engine oil, no further diagnostics should be performed. Replace the engine assembly to correct this condition.
SSM 492002020-10-06. Service bulletin. ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING. Some 2018-2019 EcoSport vehicles equipped with a 1.0L EcoBoost with an engine build date on or before 3-Apr-2019 and a 6F15 automatic transmission may exhibit an illuminated oil pressure warning lamp with a loss of engine oil pressure. This may be due to an engine oil pump belt tensioner which leads to a loss of engine oil pressure. Due to the nature of this failure, an engine replacement may be required. Engines built after 3-Apr-2019 should not be affected.
SSM 480932019-08-07. Service bulletin. ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING. Some 2018-2019 EcoSport vehicles equipped with a 1.0L EcoBoost engine and a 6F15 automatic transmission and built on or before 3-Apr-2019 may exhibit a loss of engine oil pressure with an illuminated oil pressure warning lamp. This may be due to a broken/failed engine oil pump belt tensioner which leads to a loss of engine oil pressure. Due to the nature of this failure, an engine replacement may be required. Engines built after 3-Apr-2019 should not be affected. All tensioners built with a manufacture date on or after 23-Jan-2019 are good to use.
TSB19-21682019-06-05. Service bulletin. ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING; ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING:EXHAUST SYSTEM. Some 2018-2019 EcoSport vehicles equipped with a 1.0L EcoBoost engine and an automatic transmission may exhibit an illuminated malfunction indicator lamp(MIL) with multiple diagnostic trouble codes (DTC) stored in the powertrain control module (PCM) relating to loss of power or misfire conditions. This may be due to a chafing condition on the engine control harness that is routed between the transmission and exhaust heat shield. To correct the condition, follow the Service Procedure steps to repair the wiring harness and move the heat shield away from the harness.
TSB19-21642019-06-05. Service bulletin. ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING:EXHAUST SYSTEM:EMISSION CONTROL:CRANKCASE (PCV); ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING. Some 2018-2019 EcoSport vehicles equipped with a 1.0L EcoBoost engine build on or before 16-May-2019 may exhibit an illuminated malfunction indicator lamp (MIL) with diagnostic trouble code (DTC) P051B. This may be due to sensor drift on the crankcase ventilation sensor thresholds. To resolve the condition, follow the Service Procedure to reprogram the powertrain control module (PCM).
