| 11V336000 | 2011-06-27. EQUIPMENT. DUCATI IS RECALLING CERTAIN MODEL YEAR 2011 DIAVEL MOTORCYCLES MANUFACTURED FROM SEPTEMBER 23, 2010, THROUGH MAY 12, 2011. THE BRASS INSERTS INSTALLED IN THE CHAIN GUARD MAY DEFORM OVER TIME, RESULTING IN THE POSSIBLE LOOSENING OF THE LICENSE PLATE HOLDER RETAINING SCREWS ON THE REAR SWING-ARM. THIS SITUATION COULD CAUSE THE LICENSE PLATE HOLDER TO BECOME LOOSE DURING NORMAL OPERATION OF THE MOTORCYCLE. Built 2010-09-23 to 2011-05-12. |
| 11V253000 | 2011-04-21. STEERING. DUCATI IS RECALLING CERTAIN MODEL YEAR 2010-2011 MULTISTRADA 1200, AND MODEL YEAR 2011, DIAVEL MOTORCYCLES. THE ELECTRONIC STEERING LOCK MAY FAIL TO DISENGAGE DURING THE MOTORCYCLE "KEY-ON" PROCESS. THIS HAS BEEN LINKED DIRECTLY TO A CERTAIN REVISION OF THE HANDS FREE DEVICE SOFTWARE. IT COULD RESULT IN A SITUATION WHERE THE MOTORCYCLE'S ENGINE MIGHT START WHILE THE STEERING LOCK IS STILL ENGAGED. A RIDER COULD START THE MOTORCYCLE AND ATTEMPT TO RIDE AWAY WHILE THE STEERING IS STILL LOCKED. Built 2010-05-18 to 2011-02-24. |
| 2011297 | 2011-08-15. Other. On certain Diavel and Diavel Carbon motorcycles, the side stand was incorrectly manufactured and could fail. This could allow the side stand to bend or break, causing the motorcycle to become unstable while resting on the stand, which could result in damage to the motorcycle and/or personal injury. Additionally, severe deformation or breakage of the stand could interfere with the side stand's safety switch operation, causing the engine to fail to start and/or run properly. Correction: Dealers will replace the side stand and pivot bolt with updated versions. |
|---|---|
| 2011238 | 2011-06-27. Other. On certain Diavel and Diavel Carbon motorcycles, the chain guard was manufactured with brass inserts that could deform over time. This could allow the license plate holder to loosen and interfere with the motorcycle's rear wheel, which could result in a crash causing property damage and/or personal injury. Correction: Dealers will replace the chain guard with an updated version. |
| 2011164 | 2011-04-20. Steering. On certain motorcycles, the electronic steering lock may fail to disengage, which could allow the rider to start the engine and attempt to ride the motorcycle with the steering still locked. The resulting inability to steer could increase the risk of low speed tip-over or a crash causing property damage and/or personal injury. Correction: Dealers will update the software in the Hands Free Control Unit. |
A campaign lists a year, a make and a model, and often only some of the vehicles built. A list with nothing on it is not a clearance either. The lookups below check one VIN.
