Service bulletins for the 2006 Chrysler Town and Country

A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

CS-J-382010-07-08. Service bulletin. AIR BAGS:FRONTAL:SENSOR/CONTROL MODULE-INACTIVE. DODGE/CHRYSLER: SUPPLEMENTAL FRONT AIRBAG SENSORS ON ABOUT 310,000 CERTAIN VEHICLES MAY CRACK UNDER CERTAIN CONDITIONS AND ALLOW WATER TO ENTER INTO THE SENSOR. THESE SENSORS WERE ADDED TO ENHANCE THE PERFORMANCE OF THE VEHICLE'S AIRBAG SYSTEM; HOWEVER, A CRACKED SENSOR MAY NOT OPERATE PROPERLY IN A FRONTAL CRASH. A CRACKED SENSOR CAN ALSO ILLUMINATE THE AIRBAG WARNING LIGHT. RIGHT AND LEFT SUPPLEMENTAL FRONT AIRBAG SENSORS MUST BE REPLACED AND THE SENSOR WIRING HARNESS CONNECTORS MUST BE INSPECTED AND REPLACED, IF NECESSARY. CSC LETTER WAS REC'D. *PE
