Service bulletins for the 2017 Chevrolet Spark
A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.
940 on file from NHTSA, as of 2026-10-19.

| 18089 | 2018-08-20. Service bulletin. POWER TRAIN:AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION:CONTROL MODULE (TCM/PCM/TECM); POWER TRAIN; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. 18089 - Service Update. On certain vehicles equipped with CVT Transmission (RPO MR8), the transmission control module (TCM) does not illuminate the MIL, and does not set the code P0603 (control module long term memory fault), when a memory checksum error identifies there is a malfunction of the Battery Independent Non-Volatile Dynamic Memory (BINVDM). This memory is used to store permanent DTC?s and data used to adapt transmission performance to the unique characteristics of the transmissions. Note: The reason for this software change is not due to incidents of BINVDM malfunctions; rather, it is to ensure that the MIL is illuminated if such malfunctions do occur. |
