Brake Pedal Override Feature ?, transmission busy or frequent shifting up or down, and Diagnostic Trouble Codes P057B, P057C, and/or P057D may or may not be set. Technician will use this preliminary information to find the brake pedal position data parameters in the scan tool, and also to provide some additional diagnostic help. These issues may be caused by an incorrect brake pedal position sensor input to the engine control module. Technician will verify with the scan tool if the engine control module has the correct parameters for the brake pedal position sensor. If an engine control module brake pedal position sensor relearn is performed, the truck may be temporarily repaired until the intermittent wiring issue between the engine control module and brake pedal position sensor occurs again. On 2014 and newer trucks inspect and repair any damage to X115 and X119. On the 2014 and previous trucks inspect and repair any damage to X205.

Certain Vehicles may have a condition where customers may experience increased brake pedal effort, hardbrake pedal, and/or potentially increased stopping distance. The condition is more prevalent at low speed when softly applyingthe brakes. The engine mounted mechanical vacuum pump outputmay decrease over time decreasing the amount of vacuum/power brake assist. Failure to follow recommended oil change intervalscould contribute to this condition. The Driver?s Information Center, (DIC) ?Service brake assist? alert will activate 2-5minutes after the vacuum level drops, and a Diagnostic Trouble Code, (DTC) will also be set. Even where this condition occurs, the hydraulic brake system remains functional but may require additionalpedal force. Please be aware that even if the vehicle exhibits this condition, it meets all federal motor vehicle safety standards forbrake performance. Dealers are to replace the vacuum pump and vacuum pump belt. The repairs will be made at no charge to the customer.
N1822067302019-09-30. Service bulletin. SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC; SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC:POWER ASSIST:VACUUM. N182206730 - Customer Satisfaction Program. These vehicles utilize Hydraulic Brake Boost Assist to supply additional hydraulic pressure when the vacuum boost is not sufficient to achieve the driver?s intended brake force. Dealers will reprogram the Electronic Brake Control Module in these vehicles with a new calibration that will improve how the system utilizes the Hydraulic Brake Boost Assist function when vacuum assist is depleted.
