18017 012018-05-07. Service bulletin. POWER TRAIN; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. 18017 01 - Service Update. An ASIC (Application Specific Integrated Circuit) in the engine control module may not power up correctly preventing the main microprocessor from communicating with ASICs. This can result in a no start, no crank and possible dead battery. Replace the engine control module.
PIP55512018-02-21. Service bulletin. POWER TRAIN:AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION; STRUCTURE. This Preliminary information communicates to replace the valve body and solenoid body assemblies with both spacer plates for a DTC P2820concern if not able to clean the valve body or solenoid body assemblies.

This Preliminary Information communication provides information to the technician about vehicles that have a Shift to Park message on the Driver Information Center. Technician will find Diagnostic Trouble Codes P1AEE, P1AEF, P1AF0, P1AF2, and P1E22. Technician will need to replace the transmission. Technician will need to review the latest version of PIP5321 for the Volt and PIP5390 for the Malibu.

This Preliminary Information communication advises the technician that the Product Quality Center has a part restriction for the T87A Transmission Control Module. The dealer technician is advised to call the GM Product Quality Center for further assistance.

This Preliminary Information communication advises the technician that the Malibu 5ET50 Hybrid Transmission and Component has a part restriction program.
