Technician may find Diagnostic Trouble Code P2096 or P2097. Technician will need to check the rear Heated Oxygen Sensor circuit resistance, terminal tensions, crimps and locks. Technician will also need to check for any crankcase, induction or exhaust system air leaks. If not issues found dealer should communicate to the customer that we apologize for this inconvenience and that General Motors is working on a solution for this concern.

Technician should review the appropriate Service Information diagnostics for DTC U0101. Also gather all other diagnostic trouble codes in the vehicle and which modules they are set in. The transmission connector pins should be checked for damaged terminals or poor terminal fit. Also inspect the under hood fuse block for damaged terminals or poor terminal fit and mis-positioned fuses in fuse block. Inspect the ground for the Transmission Control Module. Technician should refer to Service Information automatic transmission controls schematics to determine the ground identification.
