Recalls that may apply to the 2006 Cadillac STS
A recall listed here may apply to a vehicle of this year, make and model. Only the manufacturer can say whether it applies to one vehicle: check the VIN with the official lookups.

| 14V542000 | 2014-09-09. FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE:DELIVERY:FUEL PUMP. General Motors LLC (GM) is recalling certain model year 2004-2007 Cadillac CTS-V vehicles manufactured October 6, 2003, to March 15, 2007, and 2006-2007 Cadillac STS-V vehicles manufactured June 23, 2005, to March 15, 2007. In the affected vehicles, the electrical terminals of the fuel pump module may overheat resulting in the melting of the flange material. Built 2005-06-23 to 2006-06-02. |
|---|---|
| 07V589000 | 2007-12-20. POWER TRAIN:AXLE ASSEMBLY:AXLE SHAFT:SEAL. ON CERTAIN PASSENGER VEHICLES, THE REAR AXLE PINION SEAL DOES NOT MEET ALL OF THE SPECIFICATIONS AND MAY EXPERIENCE A FLUID LEAK. Built 2005-03-01 to 2006-08-30. |
| 06V020000 | 2006-01-25. FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE:DELIVERY. CERTAIN VEHICLES EQUIPPED WITH V6 ENGINES MAY HAVE A CONDITION WHERE FUEL IS NO LONGER SUPPLIED TO THE ENGINE. THIS CONDITION OCCURS WITHOUT THE ILLUMINATION OF THE FUEL LEVEL LOW INDICATOR LIGHT OR THE WARNING CHIME. Built 2005-04-01 to 2005-07-31. |
| 06V007000 | 2006-01-13. VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL. ON CERTAIN PASSENGER VEHICLES EQUIPPED WITH ALL WHEEL DRIVE AND A 3.6L V6 ENGINE, THE TORQUE MONITORING FUNCTIONS OF THE ELECTRONIC THROTTLE CONTROL (ETC) ARE NOT ENABLED. THESE FUNCTIONS CAN LIMIT ENGINE SPEED AND TORQUE IF UNUSUAL ENGINE CONTROL MODULE (ECM) HARDWARE OR SOFTWARE FAILURES OCCUR. Built 2005-08-01 to 2006-01-31. |
| 2014381 | 2014-09-09. Fuel System. On certain vehicles, an electrical terminal on the fuel pump module may overheat and melt, potentially allowing fuel to leak and/or affecting fuel system pressure. Fuel leakage, in the presence of an ignition source, could result in a fire. Low fuel pressure as a result of the leak could also affect engine performance which could result in reduced engine power and/or stalling. These issues could increase the risk of injury and/or property damage. Correction: Dealers will replace the fuel module and fuel tank jumper harness. |
|---|---|
| 2008145 | 2008-05-01. Other. Certain vehicles fail to conform with CMVSS 118 - Power-operated Roof Panels. The subject vehicles may exhibit a condition where the sunroof can be closed after the ignition is turned off and the doors are opened. This can only occur if the engine is turned off and a front door opened, all within 60-seconds of starting the vehicle. Once 60-seconds elapses from starting of the engine, this condition will no longer exist. For example, if the engine is started and run for 40 seconds, and the operator turns it off and exits the vehicle, the condition will only exist for the remaining 20 seconds. Correction: No remedial action is required due to the unlikely-ness of such an occurrence. |
| 2007417 | 2007-12-19. Powertrain. On certain vehicles, the drive axle differential seal may leak (note that all-wheel drive vehicles have two seals). Reduced lubrication may cause the differential to become noisier. Continued use may cause damage to bearings and other differential components. Three conditions could occur: 1). When the vehicle is stopped and shifted to reverse, the differential may jam and prevent vehicle movement. 2). the damage can cause drag that will feel like the parking brake is applied; or 3) the differential could jam and lock the drive wheels while the vehicle is underway. Should the latter occur, it could result in a loss of vehicle control and a crash, causing injury or death. Correction: Dealers will replace the drive axle differential seal(s). |
| 2006016 | 2006-01-23. Fuel System. On certain vehicles, fuel starvation may cause the engine to stall when fuel level is less than ¼ tank. This condition occurs without the illumination of the Fuel Level Low indicator light or the warning chime. If the engine stops running, the operator may not be able to restart the vehicle. Correction: Dealers will reprogram the Electronic Control Module (ECM) with new software that will compensate for fuel that has been transferred to the left side of the "saddle" design fuel tank. |
| 2006008 | 2006-01-12. Other. Certain all wheel drive vehicles equipped with a 3.6L engine did not have the torque monitoring functions of the electronic throttle control (ETC) enabled during vehicle assembly. These functions can limit engine speed and torque if unusual engine control module (ECM) hardware or software failures occur. Without these functions enabled, a persistent ECM failure could result in a throttle opening greater than commanded by the driver which could result in a crash. Correction: Dealers will reprogram the ECM. |
A campaign lists a year, a make and a model, and often only some of the vehicles built. A list with nothing on it is not a clearance either. The lookups below check one VIN.
