| 14V624000 | 2014-10-06. AIR BAGS. General Motors LLC (GM) is recalling certain model year 2015 Cadillac Escalade and Escalade ESV vehicles. The passenger side instrument panel top cover on the affected vehicles may have been manufactured using an incorrect spacer fabric, causing a reduction of adhesion between the spacer fabric and the vinyl show surface. This reduced adhesion may result in inconsistent passenger air bag deployment. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard No. 208, "Occupant Crash Protection." Built 2014-09-04 to 2014-09-24. |
| 14V259000 | 2014-05-16. AIR BAGS. General Motors LLC (GM) is recalling certain model year 2015 Cadillac Escalade and Escalade ESV vehicles manufactured April 6, 2014, through May 13, 2014. In the affected vehicles, the air bag module is secured to a chute adhered to the backside of the instrument panel with an insufficiently heated infrared weld. This may result in only a partial deployment of the front passenger air bag in the event of a crash. As such, these vehicles do not conform to Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 208, "Occupant Crash Protection." Built 2014-04-06 to 2014-05-13. |

2026-05-21. Airbag. Issue: On certain vehicles, the driver-front airbag inflator could rupture when the airbag deploys in a crash. If this happens, the airbag may not properly inflate and metal fragments could be propelled toward vehicle occupants. Safety Risk: An airbag inflator that ruptures can create a risk of injury or death. Corrective Actions: General Motors will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your vehicle to a dealership to replace the driver-front airbag module.

2019-08-21. Other. Issue: This recall is for aftermarket replacement rear window glass produced by Vitro Automotriz. Certain rear window glass may not have been properly tempered. If the window breaks, the glass may separate into large pieces instead of very small ones. Note: This is a voluntary recall that is not being conducted under the requirements of the Motor Vehicle Safety Act. Safety Risk: Glass that breaks in to large pieces could create a risk of injury. Corrective Actions: The company will notify consumers by mail and instruct them to inspect the designation code marked on the rear window glass. Products affected by this recall have the designation “DOT 287” along with the lettering “VMR” (Replacement Market) and a date code that is before July 2019. This information is printed on the bottom corner of the glass. Consumers should contact Vitro's customer service at 1-412-995-6457 or argbacklites@vitro.com to arrange for replacement of the glass.
2019-06-28. Brakes. Issue: On certain vehicles, there could be a reduction in power brake assist due to a decrease in output from the vacuum pump. This could cause a hard brake pedal and an increase in brake pedal effort to stop the vehicle. Safety Risk: A sudden increase in brake pedal force could lead to an increase in stopping distance. This could increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: The company will notify owners by mail and instruct them to take their vehicle to a dealer to reprogram the electronic brake control module.
2018-09-07. Steering. Certain vehicles may experience a temporary loss of electric power steering (EPS) assist followed by a sudden return of EPS assist, particularly during low-speed turning manoeuvres due to an electrical/software issue. If EPS assist is lost and suddenly returned, the unexpected change in steering effort could affect vehicle control, which would increase the risk of a crash causing injury and/or damage to property. Correction: Dealers will update the EPS module software. Note: If power steering assist is lost and the vehicle reverts to manual steering, a dash message would be displayed stating there is an EPS problem. Additionally, this issue could also affect radio, stabilitrak, the driver information centre, chime, door-lock, air conditioning, and/or cruise control function.
2017-07-10. Airbag. On certain vehicles, the sensing and diagnostic module (SDM), which controls airbag and pretensioner deployment, contains a software defect which may prevent the deployment of frontal airbags and pretensioners in certain circumstances. Failure of frontal airbags and seatbelt pretensioners to deploy in a crash (when warranted) could increase the risk of injury. Correction: Dealers will reflash the SDM with new software. In vehicles with any previous deployment events recorded in the SDM, the dealers will replace the existing SDM with a new SDM containing the latest software.
2016-10-12. Tires. On certain vehicles equipped with Continental P275/55R20 CrossContact LX20 tires, a manufacturing defect could cause a lack of adhesion between belts in the tire. Affected tires may exhibit localized tread wear, excessive vibration, noise and bulging in the tread area. Continued use could cause the belts to separate, which could lead to full belt/tread loss. This could increase the risk of a crash causing injury and/or damage to property. Correction: Dealers will inspect tire date code markings to determine whether they are from the affected date code. Affected tires will be replaced.
2016-09-09. Note: This recall affects 2014-2017 model year Sierra LD/Silverado LD models and 2015-2016 model year Sierra HD/Silverado HD model vehicles.
2014-12-18. Engine. On certain vehicles, exhaust components may overheat while the vehicle is idling in cold temperatures. This could cause nearby plastic components to overheat and melt, possibly resulting in smoke and/or fire and increasing the risk of injury and/or damage to property. Correction: Dealers will reprogram the engine control module. Note: This is an expansion of recall 2014-005.
2014-10-07. Seats And Restraints. Certain vehicles may not comply with the requirements of Canada Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (CMVSS) 208 - Occupant Protection. The top cover of the passenger side instrument panel may have been manufactured incorrectly, which could result in the passenger side airbag deploying irregularly. This would increase the potential for a front passenger seat occupant injury (where deployment is warranted). Correction: Dealers will replace the instrument panel top cover.
2014-05-21. Airbag. Certain vehicles may not comply with the requirements of Canada Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (CMVSS) 208 - Occupant Protection. The passenger side airbag mounting may not have been welded to specification, which could affect airbag deployment and result in non-compliance to the standard, increasing the risk of injury in a crash. Correction: Dealers will replace the instrument panel right side upper trim panel.
