GCUS-9-26292017-12-22. Service bulletin. POWER TRAIN:AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION. 38170 - Special Coverage. The accelerator pedal can break at the stalk just below the housing due to the driver entering or exiting the vehicle with their foot resting on the accelerator pedal. If the pedal breaks, it would not be possible to operate the accelerator once the stalk has broken off. The vehicle would return to idle regardless of transmission gear position. If this condition occurs within the stated terms dealers will replace the accelerator pedal.

Technician may find Diagnostic Trouble Codes P0AA6 and/ or a P1F0E set on 2011-2013 Volt or a P0DAA on 2014 Volt or Cadillac ELR in the Hybrid Powertrain Control Module 2. Technician will need to inspect the coolant level in the Hybrid/EV Battery Pack. If the coolant is found low follow published Service Information diagnostics. Technician will need to inspect the Hybrid/EV Battery Pack drain plug, located on the battery tray, regardless of fluid level at the Hybrid/EV Battery Pack coolant reservoir. If any moisture is found during the drain plug inspection, contact the General Motors Technical Assistance Center for further assistance. If the coolant level in cooling system is at the proper level and there is no moisture in the battery during the drain plug inspection, and the coolant freeze protection is between -10 and -40 degrees Fahrenheit, then update the Hybrid Powertrain Control Module2 and Battery Energy Control Module with the latest Calibrations in TIS-2-Web. Technician will need to gather all measurements recorded while evaluating Diagnostic Trouble Code P0AA6 and contact the GM Technical Assistance Center for further assistance.

This Preliminary Information communication provides information to the technician about vehicle's odometer appears to be inaccurate relative to a known distance traveled. Technician should obtain a hand-held GPS unit to test the odometer. If a hand held GPS unit is not available, the only other option is to verify the miles traveled using a surveyor's wheel or a dynamometer.
