A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

The technician may find the oil leak is coming from the rear main seal. Technician will need to check for proper thermostat operation by following thermostat Diagnosis as outlined in Service Information and replace the thermostat as necessary. Also the technician will remove the cam cover, inspect the positive crankcase ventilation baffle inside, and replace the cam cover if obvious sludge build up is present. Any debris in the positive crankcase ventilation pipes, hoses, the positive crankcase ventilation nipple on the cam cover, and the throttle body should be cleaned out. Technician should inspect the related positive crankcase ventilation hoses/connections for potential damage and replace if necessary. Run the engine at operating temperature for 15 minutes at idle. Then turn the engine off, and drain the engine oil for at least 15 minutes to remove all oil and condensation or water from the crankcase. Follow Service Information repair procedures to repair any oil leaks that were induced as a result of the frozen positive crankcase ventilation system and excessive crankcase pressure. Technician should insure the Engine Control Module calibrations have been installed to adjust the engine oil life monitor to a maximum of 7,500 miles (12,070 KM) as well.

PIP5282A2017-05-18. Service bulletin. ENGINE. THIS PRELIMINARY INFORMATION COMMUNICATION ADVISES THE TECHNICIAN ABOUT THE CALCULATION AND OPERATION OF THE ENGINE OIL LIFE MONITOR. THE MONITOR CALCULATES THE PERCENT OF OIL LIFE REMAINING, BASED ON 3 PATHWAYS. THE FIRST PATHWAY FOR OIL LIFE CALCULATION IS ENGINE REVOLUTIONS. THE SECOND PATHWAY FOR OIL LIFE CALCULATION IS THE MILEAGE FORM THE LAST REST FOR ALL GENERAL MOTORS POWERTRAINS EXCEPT THE VOLT. THE THIRD PATHWAY FOR OIL LIFE CALCULATION IS THE AMOUNT OF TIME THE OIL IS IN THE ENGINE. THE VOLT USES A 2 YEAR TIMER INSTEAD OF 1 YEAR. IT ALSO USES THE ENGINE REVOLUTION COUNTER. IT DOES NOT USE THE MILEAGE PATHWAY TO COUNT DOWN.
PIP5029G2017-05-16. Service bulletin. ENGINE. THIS PRELIMINARY INFORMATION COMMUNICATION PROVIDES INFORMATION TO THE TECHNICIAN ABOUT VEHICLES THAT HAVE A MALFUNCTION INDICATOR LAMP ON OR ENGINE MISFIRE, ROUGH IDLE, EXTENDED CRANK, OR CRANK NO START IN SOME CASES. CERTAIN VEHICLES EQUIPPED WITH A 2.4L ENGINE (LAF, LEA OR LUK) THAT HAVE EXPERIENCED HIGH OIL CONSUMPTION MAY ALSO EXPERIENCE A FROZEN AND/OR PLUGGED PCV (POSITIVE CRANKCASE VENTILATION) SYSTEM DURING COLD WEATHER OPERATION. THIS CONDITION MAY INCREASE CRANKCASE PRESSURE LEADING TO A REAR CRANKSHAFT SEAL OIL LEAK. IF THE OIL LEAK IS IGNORED OR NOT NOTICED, AN ENGINE CLATTER NOISE MAY BE NOTICEABLE AND/OR THE ENGINE PRESSURE WARNING LIGHT MAY ILLUMINATE. IF THIS CONDITION IS NOT CORRECTED, CONTINUED DRIVING WITH ENGINE NOISE AND/OR THE ENGINE OIL PRESSURE LIGHT ILLUMINATED MAY DAMAGE THE ENGINE. DEALERS ARE TO PERFORM A CRANKCASE PRESSURE CHECK, AND IF REQUIRED, REMOVE THE INTAKE MANIFOLD AND CLEAR THE PCV ORIFICE.
PIP4786C2016-10-20. Service bulletin. ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING. THIS PRELIMINARY INFORMATION COMMUNICATION PROVIDES INFORMATION TO THE TECHNICIAN ABOUT VEHICLES THAT MAY HAVE LOW OIL PRESSURE MESSAGE. TECHNICIAN MAY ALSO FIND A DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE P0521 IN THE ENGINE CONTROL MODULE. TECHNICIAN SHOULD FOLLOW ALL PUBLISHED SERVICE INFORMATION DIAGNOSIS. WHEN USING A SCAN TOOL IF THE OIL PRESSURE IS LOW BUT THE OIL PRESSURE AT THE OIL FILTER HOUSING IS CORRECT, TECHNICIAN SHOULD INSPECT THE VALVE LIFTER OIL FILTER FOR DEBRIS/SLUDGE THAT COULD BE RESTRICTING OIL FLOW TO THE OIL PRESSURE SENSOR.
