ENGINE OIL FILTER INSERT IS DIFFICULT TO REMOVE - REMOVAL: This Service Information Bulletin (Revision 1) replaces SI B11 01 20 dated February 2020. On rare occasions during an engine oil service the BMW Original (Genuine) engine oil filter insert is either difficult to remove or breaks apart in the oil filter housing. The engine oil filter is broken. The paper is torn and the lower plastic section is stuck in the engine oil filter housing (1).

The activation setting for Active Park Distance Control (aPDC) is no longer available after programming. In this case the customer can no longer activate or deactivate the function. Note: The setting (activated or de-activated) which was selected prior to programming the vehicle will be retained. GROANING NOISE FROM TRIM APERTURE ON THE FRONT SEAT: When getting in or out of the vehicle a groaning noise can be heard from the opening (aperture) in the seat backrest. The noise may be heard from one or both of the front seats. The trim aperture in the front seat is insufficiently lubricated. The front and rear halves of the trim can contact each other causing friction noise.

WATER RUNS OUT OF DRIVER'S DOOR WHEN OPENING: If the vehicle is parked on an incline (front higher than the rear) water may not be able to flow out of the door. Upon opening the door water may flow out rapidly. The collected water does not run inside the car. The door seal creates such a tight seal that water can't flow from the door.
B5101202020-02-18. Service bulletin. STEERING. RATTLE NOISE FROM STEERING COLUMN TRIM: A rattle noise is present from the area of the lower steering column trim (lower shroud). One or more of the lower steering column trim latching mechanisms is broken.

MALFUNCTION INDICATOR LAMP IS ILLUMINATED WITH A CRANKSHAFT ADAPTION FAULT: When diagnosing an illuminated malfunction indicator lamp (MIL) and/or a different issue the following faults may also be stored in the Digital Motor Electronics (DME). Fault code Control module Fault code text 213A2B DME Increment wheel adaption faulty This situation is not associated with any drivability complaints and only affects vehicles built with a Factory I-level of 19-07-500 and later. An unfavorable DME diagnostic calibration may cause the fault code to be stored. In most circumstances this will cause the MIL to be illuminated.
B6210192020-01-21. Service bulletin. SERVICE BRAKES. INCORRECT CONDITION BASED SERVICE DATA FOR BRAKE FLUID SERVICE. "Brake fluid service due since 12/2001" is displayed in the instrument cluster although the vehicle is only a maximum of 1 year old. Software error in the KOMBI (Instrument Cluster).

INSTRUMENT CLUSTER REMAINS DARK AFTER STARTING THE VEHICLE: Instrument cluster remains dark after starting the vehicle. After a restart normal functionality is restored. Software error in the KOMBI (Instrument Cluster).
B5222192020-01-21. Service bulletin. SEATS. NOISE DURING FORWARD / BACK SEAT ADJUSTMENT OVER THE ENTIRE LENGTH OF TRAVEL: A loud screeching noise can be heard from the front driver's or passenger's seat during forward/back seat adjustment.

Incorrectly manufactured front hoods or doors have been have been installed on the affected vehicles (VINs) noted below. The front hoods do not have a circumferential PVC seal The doors do not have a part of the PVC seal and the relining adhesive applied This could lead to internal corrosion. Poor sealing of the hood and doors.
