INFORMATION For the above-referenced vehicles, BMW of North America, LLC (""BMW NA"") is extending the limited warranty for the fuel injectors to: 10 years/120,000 miles as determined by the vehicle's original in-service date. This ""component-specific"" limited warranty extension applies to defects in materials and workmanship and is subject to the applicable vehicle and coverage eligibility requirements, exclusions and limitations that apply to the BMW New Vehicle Limited Warranty for Passenger Cars and Light Trucks."

INFORMATION When a defective high-pressure fuel injector is identified with an index "02" designation, as shown in the illustration below, all 4 injectors must be replaced at the same time. This bulletin only applies to index "02" injectors. Index "01" and index "03" or higher are not affected. No immediate repair is required unless the BMW vehicle is currently experiencing this problem.

SITUATION (1) SERVICE ENGINE SOON LAMP IS ILLUMINATED WITH VARIOUS MISFIRE FAULT CODES (E.G., 29CC, 29D2, 29D1, 29D0, 29C0, 29CF) STORED IN DME CONTROL MODULE. DO NOT FOLLOW THE RECOMMENDATION OF THE TEST PLAN TO REPLACE A COMPLETE SET OF THE INJECTORS. SITUATION (2) SERVICE ENGINE SOON LAMP IS ILLUMINATED AND A SINGLE, INDIVIDUAL CYLINDER MISFIRE FAULT IS STORE IN THE DME. SWAP THE AFFECTED INJECTOR WITH ONE FROM ANOTHER BANK.
