Service bulletins for the 2017 BMW S 1000 RR
A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

| MC110322 | 2023-10-01. Service bulletin. ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING. During the production of the intake camshaft there was a change in the coolant used to prevent localized overheating of parts of the camshaft. Because of this, certain parts of the camshaft may have a changed surface hardness that can result in increased wear of the rocker arms and camshaft over time. |

| MC610621 | 2021-05-24. Service bulletin. ENGINE; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. Warning light in the instrument cluster for DCC failure in motorcycles equipped with DCC |
| MC65238240 | 2021-03-15. Service bulletin. ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING. During a cold start or while idling in neutral after a brief standstill, the engine runs at higher revolutions, sounds irregular and as if there are misfires (i.e. as if it were only running on 3 cylinders). |
| MC610220 | 2020-10-19. Service bulletin. ENGINE; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. The engine wiring harness may chafe on the honeycomb structure of the frame. In case of damage to thewiring harness, the wake-up line of the instrument cluster will be damaged. The instrument cluster will nolonger be activated with "Ignition ON?. |
| MC110220 | 2020-07-27. Service bulletin. ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING. On the S 1000 models, the seal for the coolant circuit of the oil/coolant pump was manufactured from an incorrect material. This could lead to a minor leakage of coolant into the oil circuit. The oil/coolant pump must be replaced. |
| MC110120 | 2020-06-15. Service bulletin. ENGINE. BMW Motorrad has ascertained that the engine installed in the affected vehicles may have a burr present in the guide bore for the oil supply of the timing chain. The burr can dislodge over time due to vibrations and oil pressure fluctuations (incl. temperature influences). This can cause a narrowing or restriction of an oil duct or oil spray nozzle. A lack of lubrication (e.g. the timing chain) or insufficient cooling (e.g. the piston) can be the result. |
| MC110119 | 2020-01-21. Service bulletin. ENGINE. On a limited number of engines for the S 1000 RR (K67), there were two deviations that occurred during the machining work on the crankcase lower section. |

| MC50089366 | 2018-11-05. Service bulletin. ENGINE. An improper running-in process of inner engine components may lead to accelerated wear and engine damage. |
| MC54380454 | 2018-11-05. Service bulletin. ENGINE; ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING:EXHAUST SYSTEM:EMISSION CONTROL:CRANKCASE (PCV). Rattling / Chattering noise from timing gear. After approximately 9000 mils, the timing chain may wear to the point that the chein tensioners range of adjustment is no longer sufficient to accommodate the change in length. |
| MC63473054 | 2018-05-07. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:SOFTWARE; ENGINE. Engine is placed into emergency operation mode and max rpm is reduced due to a deviation in throttle signals. Signal evaluation software has been reworked and should be installed. |
| MC54380454 | 2018-04-23. Service bulletin. ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING. After approximately 9000 miles, the timing chain may wear to a point that the chain tensioner's range of adjustment is insufficient to accommodate the change in length. Rattling / chattering noise from the timing gear. |
