Service bulletins for the 2024 BMW iX

A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

B1205232024-12-31. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. The customer states there is a Drivetrain Malfunction message displayed in the instrument cluster. In addition, the following fault memory entries are saved in the CCU (Combined Charging Unit) 0317F2 - High-voltage system, insulation fault detected: when switch contactors are closed. 0317F1 - High-voltage system, insulation resistance below warning threshold: when switch contactors are closed. The fault memory entries (isolation faults) can occur both individually and in combination and must be traced back to the eDrive motor based on the ISTA test procedure. If ISTA test procedure lists possible cause of fault as; A metal chip is found behind the brush module (between the brush module and the end shield of the electrical machine). Repair required. Refer to service solution no. 20000794435083 in Aftersales Information Research (AIR). Follow information in the Procedure section below.
B6124242024-10-19. Service bulletin. UNKNOWN OR OTHER. Small debris may accumulate inside the volume control thumbwheel of the iDrive Controller. Existing gaps between the glass application and the light guide could allow external debris to enter inside the volume thumbwheel under normal usage. This debris can be seen through the crystal volume thumbwheel, giving the appearance of a cosmetic defect with the thumbwheel itself. Active lighting makes this debris more visible when illuminated. This could make the false illusion of a cosmetically defective volume thumbwheel more visible (many small dark spots or streaks).
B6521242024-09-29. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. When the navigation app is opened in the vehicle, the navigation map is not displayed. Instead, the navigation loading screen is shown on a constant loop and the message "Navigation starts" is displayed.
B6121242024-09-29. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. The (CCM) Check Control message: “811 – Stop carefully. Hood open”, is displayed even though the hood is closed. Fault code 80415B “Engine compartment lid contact switch: Line fault or faulty” is often stored inthe BCP module.
B6119242024-09-29. Service campaign. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. A manufacturing defect in high-voltage cells of the high-voltage battery can result in electrolyte leakage which might result in a conductive connection with surrounding components. Depending on the contact resistance, a yellow or red Check Control message will then be displayed; it is permitted for you to continue driving, but this will result in a charging interruption during charging.
B6119242024-09-02. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. Replace Cell Modules.
B6115242024-09-02. Service bulletin. UNKNOWN OR OTHER. While driving over rough surfaces, a rattling noise can be heard in the area of the tailgate.
B5202242024-09-01. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. Customer states they started to receive Check Control messages for the driver’s seat at the end of eachdriving cycle: One or more of the following check control messages (CCM) were present at that time: CCM 434 Seat calibration required. CCM 108 Driver restraint system. Eventually multiple restarts after they first noticed the CCM the seat stopped functioning, the air bag warninglamp illuminated in the instrument cluster, and they received a new Check Control message: CCM 97 Restraint system. There are now 6 DTC faults stored: ACSM6 Air Bag module 930D86 - Function restraint system driver restricted. C95432 - seat module Driver (seat memory), message status backrest locking standardization required. C95434 - seat module Driver (seat memory), message status backrest locking standardizationrecommended. FAS_I20 Driver's Seat module 8029F5 - initialization seat: limited seat adjustment due to missing calibration 802A03 - Functions seat adjustment FAS limited available. 802A05 - ÜKB: Shut-off ÜKB because of missing calibration. Also, one or both of the following check control messages (CCM) may currently be present: CCM 108 “Driver restraint system” CCM 109 “Passenger restraint system” The seat initialization and memory has been lost. Or Repeat failure of seat initialization after completing the test module via ISTA.
