Service bulletins for the 2023 BMW i7

A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

84 on file from NHTSA, as of 2026-10-19.

B6132332024-05-03. Service bulletin. EQUIPMENT. A small flap of sound insulation material may come into contact with some of the 12 V B+ cables at the remote B+ charging point terminal (general location at arrow) along the engine compartment’s passenger side inner fender well.
B1701242024-05-03. Service bulletin. ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING. There is coolant leaking from under the car Low heater output Possible Check Control message “Drive, you can continue driving” (ID49) Possible fault codes stored in these BEV vehicles: 224163 – Electric auxiliary heater for the high-voltage battery unit: Undervoltage or internal communication fault 8049AA - Coolant level sensor, expansion tank: Coolant level low or short circuit to ground or line disconnection 80124F – Electric auxiliary heater: Communication in electric auxiliary heater faulty 224F60 - Coolant level sensor, expansion tank: Coolant level low or short circuit to ground or line disconnection 224111 - Cooling system for power electronics: Coolant loss detected 224107 - Cooling system for high-voltage battery unit, component protection: Detection of coolant loss
B6405242024-04-01. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. When the interior temperature of the vehicle is between 5 F (-15 C) and 23 F (-5 ), the defroster function is limited; and the interior doesn’t heat up quickly enough.
B6404242024-04-01. Service bulletin. EQUIPMENT. 1. The center air vent on the left (a) is closed. All other air vents on the left side then only blow cold air intothe passenger area. OR 2. Both center (b) air vents are closed. All other air vents then only blow cold air into the passenger area. OR 3. The center air vent on the right (c) is closed. All other air vents on the right side then only blow cold airinto the passenger area.
B6107242024-04-01. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. This Informational Bulletin is intended as a guided work through process to address BEV/PHEV charging issues. The step-by-step guide will help walk you through the correct “basic” steps that should be followed when addressing and diagnosing battery electric vehicles (BEV) and plug in hybrid vehicles (PHEV) charging issues.
B6106242024-04-01. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. This Informational Bulletin is intended as a guided work-through process to address customer charging complaints. The step-by-step guide will help walk you through the “basic” procedure to test the charger/infrastructure when the vehicle does not charge, either at a: Home charger AC Level 1/Level 2 - Flexible Fast Charger/hard wired Wallbox, or a Public AC Level 2, or DC Level 3 - Fast Charging Station Note: All PHEV and BEV vehicles may be affected.
B6101242024-03-02. Service bulletin. EQUIPMENT. When driving over rough surfaces, a low-frequency rattling noise can be heard inside the vehicle's cabin. The noise typically sounds as though it is coming from the front right footwell area.
B3102242024-03-02. Service bulletin. SUSPENSION. A knocking, “thump”-type noise may be heard from the front axle during straight-ahead driving on uneven road surfaces at low speed, e.g., below 40 mph.
B6401242024-03-02. Service bulletin. VISIBILITY:DEFROSTER/DEFOGGER/HVAC SYSTEM; UNKNOWN OR OTHER. A drumming noise is heard when the air conditioning system is operating.
B6402242024-03-02. Service bulletin. ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING:COOLING SYSTEM; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. The coolant changeover valve may develop a coolant leak when the outside temperatures go below 19°F (-7°C). The vehicles operating systems would also need to be at that same low temperature (example: being parked outside, overnight in low temperatures).

The fault memory entries (isolation faults) can occur both individually and in combination and must be traced back to the eDrive motor based on the ISTA test procedure. If ISTA test procedure lists possible cause of fault as; A metal chip is found behind the brush module (between the brush module and the end shield of the electrical machine). Repair required.
