2005-03-29. Fuel System. On certain vehicles equipped with Cummins ISB diesel engine, the fuel lift pump could fail to transfer fuel appropriately creating an engine stall condition. Should the engine stall while the vehicle is in use, a possible vehicle crash could occur. Correction: Dealers will replace the fuel lift pump.
|---|---|
2003-10-21. Seats And Restraints. On certain vehicles, the bolts that attach the rear of the driver's platform to the body floor structure may have been omitted. Correction: The body structure joint at the rear of the driver's platform is to be inspected and any bolts found missing will be installed.
2002-09-12. Visual System. On certain vehicles equipped with Allison 2000 series transmissions, the "Range Inhibited" indicator light on the dash indicating a fault in the transmission was not programmed correctly and does not function. Correction: The dealer will remove the dash and activate the indicator "Range Inhibited" light.
2002-01-31. Suspension. Certain buses equipped with Hendrickson rear air suspension. Inadequate tightening of the 5/8" bolts on the rear air suspension hanger bolts and on rear axle torque arm axle seat studs. Insufficient tightening permits movement between the components that could result in bolts and studs breaking, increasing the risk of a crash. Correction: dealers will replace the 5/8" grade 8-hanger bolts. In addition, axle spring seat fasteners will be checked for proper tightness and, if needed, tightened to specifications.
2001-03-08. Brakes. Certain vehicles do not comply with the requirements of CMVSS. 105 - Hydraulic Brake Systems. The Meritor Wabco hydraulic ABS diagnostic system may not detect an extreme wheel sensor air gap that affects the generation or transmission of response or control signals in the antilock brake system. Correction: The ECU controller will be replaced with a new controller which has updated software which can detect an excessive air gap thereby correcting the potential non compliance.
2000-10-06. Engine. Certain vehicles equipped with Felsted electronic accelerator pedals. The return springs on the accelerator pedals are made of stainless steel or electroplated music wire. The design fatigue stress of the stainless steel springs is in a range that would predict that some failures would occur. The music wire springs can fail due to stress risers created by electrical arcing during electroplating. Correction: Accelerator pedals will be replaced with ones equipped with return springs manufactured of music wire with one additional coil on each spring and with an organic coating, eliminating electroplating.
2000-09-13. Brakes. On certain vehicles, the Bendix ABS ECU misinterprets certain signals from wheel ends which can result in the temporary loss of braking capability on one or more wheel positions for several seconds. This response results from either an ABS cable that has chafed through the insulation and contacted a rotating part or a misaligned tone ring that has been damaged by contacting other components. Correction: ABS ECU will be replaced with a new ECU with upgraded software capable of detecting and properly responding to erroneous signals.
