Recalls that may apply to the 2009 Autocar WX

A recall listed here may apply to a vehicle of this year, make and model. Only the manufacturer can say whether it applies to one vehicle: check the VIN with the official lookups.

By component

United States: NHTSA, as of 2026-10-19
23V0230002023-01-23. PARKING BRAKE. Autocar, LLC (Autocar) is recalling certain 2012-2016 Xpert, 2010-2020 Xspotter, 2008-2020 Xpeditor, 2008-2010 WXLL and WX vehicles. A worn parking brake control valve can leak air into the vent line, creating excessive back pressure and causing the parking brake to release unexpectedly.
14V1320002014-03-19. ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING:ENGINE. Autocar, LLC (Autocar) is recalling certain model year 2008-2014 ACX, WX, and WXLL vehicles manufactured July 30, 2007, through February 10, 2014, and equipped with certain Cummins Westport Model ISL G or ISX12 G engines. Condensation in the intake manifold may freeze during cold weather conditions and interfere with the proper operation of the intake manifold pressure sensor. Built 2007-07-30 to 2014-02-10.
13V1840002013-05-08. SERVICE BRAKES, AIR. Autocar, LLC is recalling certain model year 2005-2013 ACX, WX, and WXLL trucks built November 16, 2004, through September 10, 2012. On the affected vehicles, the air brake systems were built without the required air tank drain valve. Therefore, these vehicles fail to conform to the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) No. 121, "Air Brake Systems." Built 2004-11-16 to 2012-09-10.
10V0450002010-02-18. STRUCTURE:FRAME AND MEMBERS:UNDERBODY SHIELDS. AUTOCAR IS RECALLING CERTAIN MODEL YEAR 2007-2009 WX AND WXR HEAVY DUTY CLASS 8 LCOE VEHICLES. THE AFFECTED VEHICLES MAY DEVELOP CRACKS IN THE TOP FLANGE OF THE FRONT FRAME RAIL EXTENSION. OVER TIME, THE CRACK MAY PROPAGATE ACROSS THE EXTENSION BRACKET, POTENTIALLY CAUSING THE EXTENSION BRACKET TO DEFORM UNDER LOAD. THESE TIRES ARE ALL ASYMMETRICAL TREAD PATTERNS WITH "OUTER" INDICATED ON THE OUTSIDE SIDEWALL. THE OUTSIDE SIDEWALL CONTAINS THE FULL TIRE IDENTIFICATION NUMBER INCLUDING THE PRODUCTION DATE CODE. Built 2006-10-30 to 2009-10-16.
09V0600002009-02-19. PARKING BRAKE:DRIVELINE:AIR. AUTOCAR IS RECALLING 690 MY 2008-2009 ACX, WX AND WXLL HEAVY DUTY CLASS 8 VEHICLES EQUIPPED WITH QUICK RELEASE VALVES (QRV). THERE ARE QRV'S IN TWO AREAS OF THE VEHICLE. THE FIRST IS IN THE LIFT AXLE AIR LINES. A LEAK IN THAT QRV WOULD AFFECT THE RATE AT WHICH THE TAG/PUSHER AXLE IS LOWERED/LIFTED. THE SECOND IS IN THE PARK BRAKE AIR LINES. A LEAK IN THAT QRV WOULD RELEASE PRESSURE ON THE PARK BRAKE SPRINGS; IF THE LEAD IS LARGE ENOUGH, THE PRESSURE WILL DROP AND SET THE BRAKES ON THE REAR AXLE. Built 2008-06-11 to 2008-11-17.
08V5660002008-10-28. STEERING:GEAR BOX:SHAFT SECTOR. AUTOCAR IS RECALLING 127 MY 2008-2009 ACX, WX, AND WXLL HEAVY DUTY CLASS 8 TRUCKS. INSUFFICIENT TORQUE WAS APPLIED DURING THE ASSEMBLY PROCESS TO THE NUT ON THE PINCH BOLT THAT SECURES THE LOWER STEERING SHAFT TO THE STEERING GEAR BOX. IT WAS FOUND THAT THE TORQUE CONTROLLED TOOL WAS CALIBRATED TO A LOWER TORQUE RATING THAN SPECIFIED FOR THE APPLICATION. Built 2008-08-12 to 2008-10-10.

20100552010-03-01. Structure. Certain vehicles may develop cracks in the top flange of the front frame rail extension. Over time, the crack may propagate across the extension bracket, potentially causing the extension bracket to deform under load. This may compromise vehicle control, which may result in a crash causing property damage, personal injury or death. Correction: Dealers will reinforce the front frame extensions.
20090632009-02-27. Brakes. On certain vehicles, a leak in one or both Quick Release Valves (QRV) could occur. The first QRV is located in the lift axle air lines. A leak in that QRV would affect the rate at which the tag/pusher axle is lowered/lifted. A catastrophic failure of the QRV would result in a rapid drop of a raised tag axle, which could cause serious injury or death to a person working under or near the axle. The second QRV is in the park brake air lines. A leak would release pressure on the park brake springs; if the leak is large enough, the pressure would drop and set the brakes on the rear axle, which could result in a loss of vehicle control and a crash, causing property damage, personal injury or death. Correction: Dealers will inspect and, if necessary, replace the quick release valves.
20084512008-12-19. Steering. On certain vehicles, the lower steering shaft pinch bolt may not have received adequate tightening torque during vehicle assembly. As a result, the steering shaft may separate from the steering gear. This could cause a sudden loss of steering control, resulting in a vehicle crash causing personal injury or death. Correction: Dealers will tighten the steering shaft pinch bolt.

A campaign lists a year, a make and a model, and often only some of the vehicles built. A list with nothing on it is not a clearance either. The lookups below check one VIN.
