Service bulletins for the 2013 Audi RS 5

A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

A481354 2028220-2017-10-31. Service bulletin. WHEELS; STEERING. Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 48 number 12-30 dated June 25, 2012. Steering wheel appearance damaged due to external impact (e.g., contact with finger nails, zippers, watches, rings, etc.). External impact (e.g., contact with finger nails, zippers, watches, rings etc.) can cause damage to the appearance of the steering wheel. This type of damage is not warrantable, as numerous investigations have shown that there is no fault in material or workmanship.
A451307 2033412-2017-10-31. Service bulletin. STEERING. Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 97 number 13-35 dated March 27, 2013. Steering wheel does not lock. Various warning lights are on. Steering feels stiffer than usual. The engine cannot be switched off. The ignition key cannot be removed. There are DTC entries present in the system (either static or sporadic). DTCs are stored in the ABS control module. This condition does not result in any drivability concerns. The steering system is fully connected. The insulation for the ABS wheel speed sensor is damaged in production. Over time, this can lead to corrosion on the wires and restricted functions with the ABS control module. Only the wires in the left bulkhead grommet are affected.
A441342 2022563-2017-10-31. Service bulletin. SUSPENSION; STEERING. Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 44 number 13-36 dated February 18, 2013. This bulletin is not applicable if this vehicle has a Repair Authorization on this topic. Customer feels vibration in the seat, vehicle floor, footwell, pedals, or steering wheel. This condition does not lead to any handling concerns or loss of vehicle control. The customer feels the vibration in one or both of the following circumstances: * When driving at highway speeds from 55 - 80 mph (88 - 128 km/h). * When applying low brake pedal pressure with minor slow down. The vibrations felt by the customer could be a result of the harmonic vibrations caused by the radial force variation (RFV) of the tires.
A401335 2023187-2017-10-31. Service bulletin. STEERING; WHEELS. Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 40 number 12-23 dated May 14, 2012. Squeaking noises are heard when the steering wheel is turned or maneuvered. The noises may be more prevalent in wet weather. The folds of the outer rubber boots on the front axle shafts may come in contact with each other when the steering wheel is turned, causing squeaking noises. These noises are more likely to occur when the vehicle is new. The volume and occurrence of the noise will dissipate after a short break-in period.
Executive Servic2017-10-27. Service bulletin. STEERING:HYDRAULIC POWER ASSIST:POWER STEERING FLUID; POWER TRAIN; SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC:FLUID; ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING; EQUIPMENT:OTHER:OWNERS/SERVICE/OTHER MANUAL. This document contains a fluid capacity chart as well as a chart that contains the parts and part numbers needed for service.
A351619 2032211-2017-10-04. Service bulletin. STEERING:GEAR BOX (OTHER THAN RACK AND PINION); POWER TRAIN:AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. Gearbox warning light on (DTCs P179E00, P179F00, P0700, P060A). The driver information system displays the message "gearbox malfunction: you can continue driving". There are two scenarios present. Scenario 1 is that entries are logged individually or in combination, with P179E logged first (using DTC environmental data). The entries are DTC P179E (Drive position sensor electrical error), DTC P0700 with DFCC 20196 (Transmission control system malfunction), DTC P1758 with DFCC 8464 (Terminal 15 voltage supply open circuit), and DTC P060A with DFCC 8126, 8345 (Internal control module monitoring processor performance) In this scenario, if DTC P179E is not logged first, this TSB does not apply. Scenario 2 is that entries are logged individually or in combination. The order in which the DTCs are logged is not relevant. The entries are DTC P179E with DFCC 8050, 8051, 8052, 8053, 17595, 17596, 17597, 17598, 17602 (Drive position sensor electrical error), DTC P179F with DFCC 8054, 8055, 8056, 8057, 17599, 17600, 17601 (Drive position sensor malfunction), DTC P0716 with DFCC 8096, 8101, 18153, 20738 (Input turbine/speed sensor ?A? circ. range/performance), DTC P171F with DFCC 8097, 8102, 18154 (Transmission input speed (RPM) sensor 2 implausible signal), DTC P0715 with DFCC 8094, 8103, 18161 (Input turbine/speed sensor ?A? circuit.), DTC P2765 with DFCC 8095, 8104 (Input turbine/speed sensor ?B? circuit), DTC P0501 with DFCC 8098 (Vehicle speed sensor ?A? range/performance), and DTC P2159 with DFCC 8099 (Vehicle speed sensor ?B? range/performance). Fault codes and DFCC codes must match exactly for this TSB to apply. The DFCC is the 4-6 digit code that is typically listed before the fault code. Incorrect driving mode sensor module.
