Service bulletins for the 2014 Audi R8

A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

448 on file from NHTSA, as of 2026-10-19.

001463203357622022-09-26. Service bulletin. ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING. Although the correct amount of oil was added to the engine during an oil change service, a check of the oil level shows that the oil level is not okay. When an unapproved aftermarket speed-filling device is used to add oil to the engine, the increased oil flow rate may force oil into the intake manifold or combustion chamber, creating the potential for engine damage.
001459202973722022-09-26. Service bulletin. ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING. When oil is drained through the drain plug, the oil might spill on components around the oil pan area. If it is not properly cleaned up, this spilled oil could drip after the procedure is complete, causing unnecessary customer complaints.

A small amount of dry or crusted coolant is seen on the coolant pump housing (Figure 1, Figure 2, and Figure 3). The coolant level warning is not on. A minor coolant leak is possible during the break-in phase of the coolant seal on the coolant pump. The dry coolant marks are normal.
1453203812922022-08-01. Service bulletin. ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING:ENGINE:OIL/LUBRICATION. A check with the engine oil service dipstick T40178 is necessary, but the adjustment values for the dipstick are not available in the Elsa repair manual. 1450203812912022-08-01. Service bulletin. ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING:ENGINE:OIL/LUBRICATION. A check with the engine oil service dipstick T40178 is necessary, but the adjustment values for the dipstick are not available in the Elsa repair manual. Because of a system change, the adjustment values for the service dipstick T40178 were removed from the repair manual.
1449202844022022-08-01. Service bulletin. BACK OVER PREVENTION:DISPLAY FUNCTION. The customer complains of one or more of the following issues: ? When the vehicle is completely refueled, the vehicle range (?distance to empty?) that is displayed is different than the vehicle range that was displayed the last time the vehicle was completely refueled. ? The displayed vehicle range drops inconsistently. ? After the vehicle is refueled, the displayed vehicle range does not change for a long period of time. ? When the vehicle is driven on hilly roads for a long period of time, the displayed vehicle range suddenly changes by a significant amount. ? There are no DTCs related to fuel senders stored in the instrument cluster control module, J285 (address word 17). This condition does not involve or affect the accuracy of the fuel level indicator, but only the estimated distance to empty display on the on-board computer.
1448203619412022-08-01. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. The dashboard lights and controls may briefly flicker under hard acceleration after downshifting or when the engine is revved while the vehicle is stationary. The issue does not occur during normal driving, and all instrumentation continues to operate correctly. During periods of low electrical load (and especially when the battery is fully charged), the energy spike generated by the alternator due to the rapid increase in engine speed cannot be completely absorbed by the vehicle electrical system. This leads to a voltage increase that can cause some modules to initiate overvoltage protection. The condition is very brief and is considered normal.
1303203191022022-08-01. Service bulletin. ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING. Because the R8 is not equipped with a dual mass flywheel, engine vibrations go directly into the transmission. Gears that are not engaged will vibrate, causing a rattling noise. This noise does not affect the performance of the vehicle.
1498203816612022-08-01. Service bulletin. EQUIPMENT. The programmed values for the misfire adaption are not automatically reset when the memory is deleted. The adaption must be reset after the engine is installed.
1491202884222022-08-01. Service bulletin. ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING:ENGINE:ENGINE CONTROL MODULE (ECU/ECM). Customer vehicle is fitted with unauthorized ECM tuning.
1482203611422022-08-01. Service bulletin. ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING:COOLING SYSTEM. If the measured engine temperature does not reach the value in the timing map after a specified air flow, DTC P218100 will be stored.

The summaries are NHTSA's. Each bulletin's page links NHTSA's copy of the manufacturer's document.
