Service bulletins for the 2017 Audi Q7
A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

| A911634 2043660- | 2017-10-25. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:SOFTWARE. The customer has various complaints about the RSE system and would like to update the software of the RSE tablets. The vehicle cannot be started after it has been off for several days, and there are no indications in the battery history log of battery drain originating from a control unit on the CAN bus. The latest update (available as of March 2016) implements a fix that can prevent one of the RSE units from staying awake while the ignition is off, which can potentially draw the vehicle battery down. |
| A911633 2037809- | 2017-10-25. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:SOFTWARE. The navigation map does not show the latest roads or points of interest. The map download provided by the myAudi website cannot be performed. The customer does not know how to obtain the data or cannot perform the update after downloading the data. The MMI is slow to respond or freezes during the map update. For vehicles with MIB2, the MMI over-the-air map update does not allow for a full map update and shows greyed-out regions. The customer is concerned that the OTA map update will consume too much data from the Audi connect data subscription. |
| A901664 2043734- | 2017-10-25. Service bulletin. EQUIPMENT ADAPTIVE/MOBILITY. After a threshold for the speed warning in the MMI is set and then turned off, the speed waring cannot be deactivated and/or the speed warning is displayed in km/h and not mph. |
| A571624 2042941- | 2017-10-25. Service bulletin. EQUIPMENT ADAPTIVE/MOBILITY. The vehicle was delivered with two remote keys that have different exterior finishes. One key has a glossy piano black finish with matte chrome detail, and the other key has a completely matte black finish. Starting model year 2016 TT vehicles and with model year 2017 Q7 and A4 vehicles, vehicles equipped with Audi advanced key (Kessy) will be delivered with two remote keys that have different exterior finishes. Delivering vehicles with two keys that have different finishes is done deliberately. The key with glossy black finish indicates that the vehicle is equipped with Audi advanced key. Vehicles without Audi advanced key are delivered with two matte black finish keys. |
| A571623 2041396- | 2017-10-25. Service bulletin. EQUIPMENT. The plastic emergency spare key was not delivered with the vehicle. From MY 2016, the plastic emergency spare key is no longer part of the standard equipment for vehicles with the newest keyless remote design. | PDI - 2017 Q7 TE | 2017-10-25. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:12V/24V/48V BATTERY. Audi Technician Report that must be completed prior to customer delivery by an Audi technician. An Audi approved battery charger is recommended to prevent excessive battery discharge during inspection. All PDI function tests must be run in Guided Fault Finding (GFF) only. Do not use Guided Functions for any PDI related test as these will not be uploaded to the Paperless Server. For items marked with *, please refer to the PDI Technician Reference Document posted on ServiceNet for additional information. |
| A971548 2013504- | 2017-10-21. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 97 number 10-15 dated October 20, 2010. Sporadic fault memory entries are stored in various control modules. Contacts may be widened (over 0.63 mm) if incorrect pins or incorrect methods for current flow tests are used. Either action may cause intermittent electrical connections, which can cause sporadic DTCs to be stored in various control modules. |
| A911588 2026390- | 2017-10-21. Service bulletin. EQUIPMENT:ELECTRICAL; EQUIPMENT:ELECTRICAL:RADIO/TAPE DECK/CD ETC.. When a phonebook with a large number of contacts is being downloaded, the MMI screen freezes Briefly after the initial Bluetooth connection (shortly after the phone is bonded to the vehicle), after the ignition is switched on (shortly after the phone automatically reconnects with the vehicle), and after the phonebook has downloaded. When the voice recognition system is used, a message appears in the MMI screen stating that the phone book is too large and that the voice recognition system cannot be used. When music is streamed to the MMI system with the Bluetooth A2DP connection, the music intermittently pauses or seems to skip. The condition goes away once the phonebook transfer is completed. The MMI uses a limited portion of the total memory to convert the name and phone number fields of downloaded contacts into a voice command (text to speech). Extensive processing takes place if too many letters are used in the first and last name fields or if numbers or special characters are entered. The remaining memory is dynamically assigned to different applications which can also affect the capacity of the voice command processing. The MMI does not respond until the process is completed or it may freeze if phonebook fields are too large or do not follow typical formatting. In addition, the text-to-speech capacity is exceeded and the voice recognition system is rendered inactive. |
| A871563 2010146- | 2017-10-21. Service bulletin. EQUIPMENT:APPLIANCE:AIR CONDITIONER. Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 87 number 14-54 dated August 28, 2014. There is an unpleasant, musty odor coming from the heating and ventilation system. The odor usually occurs when the vehicle has been sitting unused for five hours or more. The odor usually occurs within 20 to 60 seconds after the vehicle is started. Condensation, which is a normal condition in all A/C systems, can cause a musty odor. If the odor is noticeable in the vehicle when the engine is not turned on, the cause may be mold and mildew in the passenger compartment, and not be related to the A/C system. All other possible sources of the odor must be investigated before this bulletin can be performed. |
| A911582 2029903- | 2017-10-21. Service bulletin. EQUIPMENT:ELECTRICAL; BACK OVER PREVENTION: CAMERA SYSTEM. Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 91 number 12-42 dated June 20, 2012. The customer complains about the picture quality of rearview backup camera image in the MMI screen. The picture is fuzzy or distorted. The picture looks too bright, too dark, or opaque in certain areas of the image. The colors of the objects in the image are incorrect or slightly off. The guidelines used for parking are fuzzy, distorted, or pixelated when compared with the guidelines displayed on another vehicle?s MMI. |
| A911579 2038824- | 2017-10-21. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 91 number 14-69 dated November 4, 2014. The following message appears on the MMI display: "Device or cable type not supported". The AMI cable being used is a genuine Audi-branded cable with an Audi part number (see Required Parts and Tools for a list of valid part numbers). The "Device or cable type not supported" message may be displayed when an incorrect AMI cable type is connected to the MMI system. Only cables with an Audi part number (i.e., 4F0.XXX.XXX) are supported by the MMI system. Volkswagen-branded cables look similar, but are not guaranteed to work with Audi MMI systems. The label on the end of an Audi-branded cable has an Audi logo and Audi part number. Audi-branded cables have unique firmware inside the hardware that can determine which MMI system and iOS device are connected to the cable. Volkswagen cables do not have this firmware. The firmware is required to allow the system to function normally due to the different technology available in the different MMI systems and in the different iPhones and iPod Touch devices. In addition, the AMI system was designed to play the music stored locally on the connected device only. Music streaming (from Spotify or Pandora, for example) is not supported, and music stored in the cloud (on Google Play, Amazon Prime, or iTunes Match/iCloud, for example) may drop out, pause, and skip when played. |
| A911578 2011500- | 2017-10-21. Service bulletin. EQUIPMENT:ELECTRICAL; EQUIPMENT:ELECTRICAL:RADIO/TAPE DECK/CD ETC.. Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 91 number 08-129 dated November 12, 2008. Customer states that the reception of satellite radio occasionally fades or drops out. The information display may show a message related to the satellite radio, such as "Linking", "Updating", "Acquiring Signal", "Loading", "No Signal", or "No Sat". |
