Service bulletins for the 2013 Audi Q7

A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

A171344 2035463-2017-10-31. Service bulletin. ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING. In order to provide effective lubrication and cooling of internal engine components, all internal combustion engines consume a certain amount of engine oil. Oil consumption varies from engine to engine, and may change significantly over the life of the engine. Typically, engines with specified break-in periods consume more oil during the break-in period, and the oil consumption will stabilize after the break-in period. Refer to the Owner?s Manual for specific break-in procedures. Under normal conditions, the rate of oil consumption depends on the quality and viscosity of the oil, the RPM at which the engine is operated, and the ambient temperature and road conditions. Additional factors include the amount of oil dilution from water condensation or fuel residue and the oxidation level of the oil. Utilizing the advanced sensor technology integrated in models equipped with the 3.0 TFSI engine, it is possible to measure oil consumption electronically via a Guided Function test plan. If the electronic oil consumption test is not available for this model, perform the test with the conventional scale/oil weighing method. See TSB 2018550 for instructions for the conventional scale/oil weighing method.
A011338 2035519-2017-10-31. Service bulletin. ENGINE; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. MIL on. DTCs are stored in the engine control module (ECM). Drivability is not affected. The leak detection pump (LDP) is a vacuum-driven, ECM-controlled, diaphragm pump. In order for the LDP to operate, the engine must be running and vacuum must be applied to the vacuum switch on the LDP. The LDP pressurizes the EVAP system and monitors any pressure drop within a specified amount of time in order to detect a leak.
A011334 2033919-2017-10-31. Service bulletin. ENGINE. Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 01 number 13-26 dated August 29, 2013. MIL on. DTCs are stored in the engine control module. There may be slight power reduction at high RPMs. One of the vacuum actuators on intake runner bank 1 or bank 2 is defective. It is possible that the membrane on the vacuum actuator may tear. As a result, the intake manifold flaps do not function.
Executive Servic2017-10-27. Service bulletin. ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING; POWER TRAIN; STEERING:HYDRAULIC POWER ASSIST:POWER STEERING FLUID; EQUIPMENT:OTHER:OWNERS/SERVICE/OTHER MANUAL; SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC:FLUID. This document contains a fluid capacity chart as well as a chart that contains the parts and part numbers needed for service.
A171563 2038129-2017-10-27. Service bulletin. ENGINE. Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 17 number 14-53 dated November 7, 2014. A check with the engine oil service dipstick T40178 is necessary, but the adjustment values for the dipstick are not available in the Elsa repair manual. Because of a system change, the adjustment values for the service dipstick T40178 were removed from the repair manual.
A011524 2040491-2017-10-25. Service bulletin. ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING. The MIL is on. "Coolant System: Fault Turn Off Engine" and the coolant symbol appears in the information panel. DTC P1B1C00 is stored in the ECM.
A011507 2028344-2017-10-25. Service bulletin. ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING. Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 01 number 13-69 dated February 14, 2013. Noises and inconsistent engine operation after cold start during the catalyst heating phase. The customer may misinterpret these symptoms as engine misfiring. This bulletin applies only to non-diesel engines.
A151526 2039995-2017-10-25. Service bulletin. ENGINE; POWER TRAIN. Rattling noises are heard from the timing chain drive for about 1-3 seconds after the first engine start of the day. The noises are caused by one of the upper chain tensioners. The noises do not lead to damage. Improved chain tensioner.
A191558 2036852-2017-10-21. Service bulletin. ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING:COOLING SYSTEM:FAN. Cooling fans stay on after engine is turned off. The cooling fans may operate for up to 10 minutes after the engine is turned off. This function is mapped to specific driving patterns and vehicle operating modes (for example, DPF regeneration). This is normal operation, and no parts should be replaced.
A011519 2040403-2017-10-21. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:STARTER ASSEMBLY:SOLENOID; ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING. The MIL is on. DTCs P2440(00) and/or P2442(00) are stored in the ECM. One of the combi valves is defective or the vacuum solenoid is defective.
A171557 2010043-2017-10-21. Service bulletin. ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING. Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 17 number 13-35 dated January 9, 2013. This bulletin lists engine oils that meet Audi oil quality standards (VW 501 01, 502 00, 505 00, 505 01, and 504 00/507 00).
A101511 2018288-2017-10-21. Service bulletin. ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING. Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 10 number 13-10 dated September 5, 2013. Prior to engine replacement, any debris lodged in transferred assemblies must be removed. If the engine experienced a serious mechanical problem, it is possible that small pieces of metal debris resulting from the mechanical problem may have become deposited in the intake manifold, air intake hoses, exhaust manifolds, exhaust down-pipes, turbocharger, supercharger, and/or intercooler. If these metal debris pieces are not removed prior to the installation and operation of the replacement engine, they could be drawn into the combustion chamber, which can cause a knocking noise and subsequent serious engine damage.
A011512 2024344-2017-10-21. Service bulletin. POWER TRAIN:AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION:CONTROL MODULE (TCM/PCM/TECM); ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING. Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 01 number 13-80 dated March 25, 2013. The MIL is on. Vehicle has reduced performance (in "limp mode"). Various entries may be logged in the engine control module (ECM).
