Service bulletins for the 2011 Audi Q5

A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

The customer may report noises when operating the window or noises from inside the door when driving on rough roads. When lowering the window, it collides with the clip that holds the window guide cable. This causes the clip to open and contact the window during operation, or rattle while driving on rough roads.
A661226 2031853-2017-11-08. Service bulletin. EQUIPMENT; STRUCTURE. Customer hears wind noise coming from the top of the vehicle while driving with the roof carrier bars installed. When the roof carrier bars are installed on the vehicle the acoustic environment in the cabin is predictably affected. The intent of the roof carrier bars is solely for the transport of cargo. When installed an increase in wind noise should be expected.

Supersedes Technical Service bulletin Group 91 number 11-15 dated October 5, 2011. Customer complaint is that street addresses with hyphens (e.g. 27-80) cannot be entered as a Navigation destination. In the past, the daytime running light bulbs were a serviceable part. In this application, the LED strip cannot be replaced, and may have an associated control module. This TSB is for servicing information only.
A571274 2027494-2017-11-08. Service bulletin. EQUIPMENT; STRUCTURE. Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 57 number 12 ? 71 dated September 17, 2012. During heavy rains, water can back up and enter the vehicle through this gap.
A911263 2021151-2017-11-08. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM; EQUIPMENT:APPLIANCE:AIR CONDITIONER. Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 91 number 11 ? 83 dated April 15, 2011. The customer may report that the illumination of the dash insert, the air conditioning control panel or the inside light flickers when briefly pressing the accelerator in P or N or when shifting down while driving downhill. Only vehicles with PR number 8GH may be affected. When high electricity consumers are switched off and the battery is fully charged, the energy generated by the alternator is sometimes too great for the power system to absorb. This may lead to briefly increased voltage, and the lights mentioned above may briefly flicker. This characteristic is caused by the alternator design and is a normal condition of the vehicle.
A871238 2032204-2017-11-08. Service bulletin. EQUIPMENT; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM; VISIBILITY:DEFROSTER/DEFOGGER/HVAC SYSTEM. The customer may claim that when adjusting the climate system temperature or air distribution that noises can be heard from the regulator motors. There may be various DTC? s stored in 08 ? Climate Control Module. Due to a production issue with the regulator motors at the supplier, audible noises from the regulator motors could develop. The adjustment strategy of the regulator motors must be changed by way of a software update.
A901238 2032113-2017-11-08. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM; EQUIPMENT. The customer may state that the outside ambient temperature display is incorrect. To achieve a smoothening effect of the displayed outside ambient temperature, the value shown does not instantaneously follow the temperature sensor measurement. The display will not change faster than 4° F (2° C) per minute. This concept applies to both falling and rising temperatures. A programming strategy is also implemented to avoid incorrect readings on a parked vehicle, due to the temperature sensor being affected by outside influences such as radiant heat from the engine bay, elevated road surface temperatures, etc.
A961485 2027416-2017-11-08. Service bulletin. EQUIPMENT ADAPTIVE/MOBILITY. Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 96 number 13-61 dated May 28, 2013. Customer may report that cracking, grinding, rattling, humming, whining, or similar interference is coming from one or more speakers. Parts of the speakers (such as the brackets, cables, or covers) or parts of the interior fittings (such as door covers, rear shelf, facings, or covers) can vibrate at certain frequencies, causing noises. The radio tuner or other control modules may be affected by electromagnetic interference from aftermarket electronic devices.

There is no customer complaint with this concern. DTCs may be stored. If the memory is read with guided fault finding (GFF) or if Immobilizer test plans are performed, the above DTC entries may be stored due to a communication error between the VAS tester and the TCM. (In particular, the issue happens with tester VAS 5051B).
A001463 2033576-2017-11-08. Service bulletin. ENGINE; EQUIPMENT:OTHER:OWNERS/SERVICE/OTHER MANUAL. Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 00 number 13-49 dated May 14, 2013. Although the correct amount of oil was added to the engine during an oil change service, a check of the oil level shows that the oil level is not okay. When an unapproved aftermarket speed-filling device is used to add oil to the engine, the increased oil flow rate may force oil into the intake manifold or combustion chamber, creating the potential for engine damage.

DTC 03159 (tire pressure monitoring in ESP function) is stored in the ABS control module, J104 (address word 03), with one or more additional DTCs. Scenario C is the messages "TPMS" and "Tire pressure: System malfunction!" appear while the vehicle is being driven. DTC 03159 (tire pressure monitoring in ESP function) is stored in the ABS control module, J104 (address word 03), without other DTCs.

The customer complains that when he or she is trying to place a phone call from the vehicle while using a Bluetooth®-connected phone, the phone call disconnects before it begins and an error shows on the MMI display. The message may be "Function not supported" or "Network error". The customer is using a phone with the Android operating system. In addition, Skype®, or another network-based communication software, is installed on the phone. Call can be placed directly from the phone without a problem. When the phone receives the request to place a call from the vehicle, a prompt appears on the phone asking the user to choose how the call should be placed. If the prompt is ignored, the MMI system disconnects the call because it assumes that the phone is not responding.

The driver information system (DIS) display screen is completely blank or appears to be all white.
