Service bulletins for the 2013 Audi A8
A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

| 21F2 - Dealer Le | 2018-02-05. Service bulletin. ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING:ENGINE:GASOLINE:TURBO/SUPERCHARGER. On Audi vehicles with 4.0L TFSI engines manufactured within a specific period, the O-rings in the coolant lines for the turbocharger may be damaged. This can result in leaks between the coolant lines and the turbocharger. |

| A871569 2020124- | 2018-02-05. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:12V/24V/48V BATTERY; EQUIPMENT:APPLIANCE:AIR CONDITIONER. Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 87 number 14-49 dated April 25, 2014. Air conditioning is inoperative. The HVAC blower functions normally. Battery discharged; however, when charged, there is no bus silence when vehicle ignition is off. The A/C pressure/temperature sensor, G395, leaks refrigerant. This causes sensor G395 to show an incorrect or implausible value when reading MVBs. An incorrect signal or a low refrigerant level in the system can cause the air conditioning compressor to deactivate. The LIN cable connecting the vehicle electrical system control module, J519, to sensor G395 is pinched or cut. This affects the A4/S4, A5/S5 Coupe and Cabriolet, and Q5 vehicles. The A6 and A8 are not affected by this type of failure. The pressure sensor G395/G65 sends an incorrect signal that prevents bus silence and the battery is discharged. Sensor G395 is a LIN slave of the vehicle electrical system control module. The vehicle electrical system control module transfers the information provided by the sensor via the comfort data bus to the climate control module, J255. |
| A721515 2041579- | 2018-02-05. Service bulletin. EQUIPMENT. One side of the front center armrest will not lay flat or even with the other side. The pin from the locking pawl is out of place. |

Audi advanced key (keyless entry) is inoperative on all doors, but the engine can be started with the keyless starting system (keyless go). The keyless starting system (keyless go) is a standard feature; Audi advanced key is an optional feature. All vehicles have an engine start-stop button (-E408-) and touch sensor surface on the outer door handles, but this does not mean that the optional Audi advanced key function is installed. |
| A0115312033806-7 | 2018-02-05. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM; ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING. Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 80 number 14-07 dated August 11, 2014. The MIL is on. Climate system heating performance is insufficient. Coolant level warning is on. Engine temperature is elevated. ?Limp Home? mode is active. Faults may be stored in the transmission control module. Coolant loss is found from one or more control valves: N82, N509, or N488. Coolant may have migrated into the wiring harness through the connector and into various control units. Climate system heating performance is insufficient due to coolant loss as a result of coolant migration in the electrical harness, faults in 08-Heating and Air Conditioning Electronics that result from coolant migration in the electrical harness, or a faulty N82 control valve. |

| A461486 2022584- | 2018-02-05. Service bulletin. SUSPENSION; AIR BAGS; SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC. Brake-related vibration and pulsation has several causes that depend on driving style and resulting brake disc temperature, as well as environmental conditions. Both the intensity of the wear of the brake system and the type of wear depend on the operating conditions of the vehicle. The wear of the brake discs is determined by the frequency and intensity of the brake operations. Dirt build-up, exposure to sand, long standing times, and road salt or similar, can also promote wear as well as cause scoring marks on the brake discs. The driving style of the driver also influences the wear of the brake system. An overly-aggressive driving style, which results in frequent sharp braking, can lead to more wear (particularly of the brake pads). A gentle driving style can result in very light brake applications. If the brakes are always applied with little pressure, a rust film and other airborne particles may settle on the brake discs and pads. Firm brake operations can help clean off such build-up from the brakes. |
