Service bulletins for the 2013 Audi A8

A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

A191789 2046712-2018-02-05. Service bulletin. ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING:COOLING SYSTEM. This informational bulletin contains guidelines for figuring out why coolant marks are present around the coolant expansion tank cap.
Update Bulletin2017-11-17. Service bulletin. ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING:COOLING SYSTEM. It is possible that leakage may occur at the weld seam on coolant expansion tanks manufactured within a specific period on Audi A8 vehicles. The Update is in effect until removed. Procedure is valid only for vehicles that show the 19i9 code in the ElsaWeb Campaign/Action Information screen on the day of repair. Vehicles must be within the New Vehicle Limited Warranty. Procedure must be performed within the allotted timeframe stated in this Technical Service Bulletin. Procedure must be performed on applicable vehicles in dealer inventory prior to sale.
A801406 2033806-2017-11-08. Service bulletin. ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING:COOLING SYSTEM. Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 80 number 13-05 dated September 11, 2013. Malfunction Indicator Lamp is on. Climate system heating performance is insufficient. Coolant level warning is on. Engine temperature is elevated. "Limp Home" mode is active. Faults are stored in the transmission control module (address word 02). Coolant loss is found from one or more control valves: N82, N509, or N488. Coolant may have migrated into the wiring harness through the connector and into various control units. Climate system heating performance is insufficient due to coolant loss, or due to a faulty N82 control valve. Inspection of the coolant control valves N82, N509, or N488 reveals the presence of coolant inside the electrical connector as shown in the illustration. The connectors, wiring harness, and/or connected control units may have been damaged from exposure to coolant.
A191449 2036852-2017-11-08. Service bulletin. ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING:COOLING SYSTEM:FAN. Cooling fans stay on after engine is turned off. The cooling fans may operate for up to 10 minutes after the engine is turned off. This function is mapped to specific driving patterns and vehicle operating modes (for example, DPF regeneration). This is normal operation, and no parts should be replaced.
A871345 2024644-2017-10-31. Service bulletin. ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING:COOLING SYSTEM:HOSES/LINES/PIPING/FITTINGS. Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 87 number 13-41 dated May 30, 2013. Moisture in the driver or front passenger foot well. Due to a faulty and/or incorrectly installed condensation drain hose, condensation from the evaporator could enter the front foot well areas through a gap between the body and the sealing surface of the drain hose.
A011522 2038045-2017-10-21. Service bulletin. ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING:COOLING SYSTEM. Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 01 number 14-88 dated August 15, 2014. The MIL is on. DTC P218100 (Cooling System Performance) is stored in the engine control module (ECM), J623 (address word 01). DTC P218100 will be stored if, after a specified air flow (warm-up phase), the measured engine temperature does not reach the value in the timing map. Particles in the cooling system from the production process affect the closing of the coolant thermostat. Replacing the coolant temperature sender does not fix the problem.
A191558 2036852-2017-10-21.
A191666 2043142-2017-10-04. Service bulletin. ENGINE; ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING:COOLING SYSTEM; ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING. The MIL is sporadically on. One or more of the following DTCs is stored in the engine control module (ECM, J623 (address word 01). They are DTC P261A00 (Coolant Pump ?B? Control Circuit/Open), DTC P261B00 (Coolant Pump ?B? Control Circuit Range/Performance), and DTC P261C00 (Coolant Pump ?B? Control Circuit Low). The continued coolant circulation pump sporadically fails.
