Service bulletins for the 2014 Audi A7
A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

| A911458 2035919- | 2017-12-05. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:SOFTWARE. Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 91 number 14-53 dated July 24, 2014. MMI 3G+ GPS location is inaccurate (MY13, MY14, & MY15). |
| A911463 2028190- | 2017-12-05. Service bulletin. EQUIPMENT:ELECTRICAL:NAVIGATIONAL SYSTEM(GLOBAL POSITIONING SYSTEM); ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:SOFTWARE. Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 91 number 13-08 dated September 20, 2013. The customer would like to add a different navigation map database for countries outside of the USA or Canada. The customer would like to change the MMI system language to a different language that is not already supported by MMI. When a song is being played and the track information for that song contains foreign language characters, the driver information system (DIS) in the cluster correctly displays the characters, but the MMI display does not. |
| A911392 2030947- | 2017-12-05. Service bulletin. EQUIPMENT:ELECTRICAL; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:SOFTWARE. Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 91 number 12-61 dated September 25, 2012. The customer complains that when he or she is trying to place a phone call from the vehicle while using a Bluetooth®-connected phone, the phone call disconnects before it begins and an error shows on the MMI display. The message may be "Function not supported" or "Network error". The customer is using a phone with the Android operating system. In addition, Skype®, or another network-based communication software, is installed on the phone. Call can be placed directly from the phone without a problem. When the phone gets the request to place a call from the vehicle, a prompt appears on the phone asking the user to choose how the call should be placed. If the prompt is ignored, the MMI system disconnects the call assuming the phone is not responding. |
| A461347 2034387- | 2017-12-05. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM; PARKING BRAKE. Customer may report sporadically hearing the parking brake being actuated after the vehicle has been switched off. If the customer does not identify the sound as the sound of the parking brake being actuated, he or she may simply complain of hearing noises from the rear brakes. Ignition is switched off. Steering is locked. Park is selected. Parking brake is not engaged. If the electro-mechanical parking brake is not operated for some time, the free play between brake pads and brake discs increases because of normal brake pad wear. The parking brake control unit performs an automatic correction about every 621 miles (1,000 km). On A8 models, the brake pad thickness is also calculated. |
| A941306 2017806- | 2017-11-17. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM; EXTERIOR LIGHTING. Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 94 number 12-79 dated June 6, 2012. Light bulb warning light and the message Vehicle lights: malfunction is displayed in the instrument cluster display. DTC 03280 (Light switch position implausible signal) is stored in the vehicle electrical system control module, J519 (09). Exterior lights are functioning properly. If the headlight switch is moved to an intermediate position and remains there, the light bulb warning light and the error message appear after approximately ten seconds. Once displayed, the message turns off after approximately five seconds. The light bulb warning light turns off only after the headlight switch is turned to a defined position, and the status of DTC 03280 is changed to sporadic. After 40 driving cycles without an implausible signal detected, the DTC is automatically cleared. |
| A571385 2017082- | 2017-11-17. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM; LATCHES/LOCKS/LINKAGES:DOORS:LATCH. Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 57 number 13-82 dated February 5, 2013. Central locking via remote control does not work either sporadically or permanently. The locks can still be operated manually. Missing synchronization between the remote control key and vehicle because the battery has been disconnected or the battery of the remote control has been replaced. If other senders operate in the same frequency range (mobile phones, TV stations, wireless headphones, baby monitors, other vehicle remote controls, etc.), the remote control key may have been temporarily switched off because a clear identification of the remote control key is not possible. This is necessary to prevent an unintentional unlocking of the vehicle by other unrelated senders. |
| A961501 2019260- | 2017-11-17. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:SOFTWARE. Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 96 number 13-67 dated July 10, 2013. The customer may report that the handheld transmitter cannot be programmed to the garage door opener control module, J530. The customer?s door opener system may not be compatible with J530. The battery in the handheld transmitter may be too weak for a good signal. The battery charge may be sufficient to operate the garage door opener, but not enough to program the remote transmitter to the vehicle system. The battery in the handheld transmitter may be too weak for a good signal. The battery charge may be sufficient to operate the garage door opener, but not enough to program the remote transmitter to the vehicle system. In A4 model years 2005?2006 and A3 model year 2009, the actual location of the garage door opener control module differs from the location shown in the owner's manual (opposite side of front bumper). The customer may misunderstand the programming procedure, particularly if the customer?s HomeLink® opener system is using an alternate code. The handheld transmitter?s programming function may become inoperative, or the transmitter is too far away from J530. Interference prevents the communication between handheld transmitter and J530. Interference prevents the communication between handheld transmitter and J530. If the vehicle flashes during the programming of a handheld transmitter, this does not necessarily indicate that the programming was successful; it only indicates that the vehicle has recognized and saved a signal. |
| A911517 2042013- | 2017-11-17. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM: INSTRUMENT CLUSTER/PANEL. While using Audi connect, the customer cannot access the online destination search and/or the Google Earth navigation view. ?This service is currently unavailable. Please try again later" message appears in the MMI. The customer may also see an error message in the myAudi portal indicating that one or multiple licenses are expired and must be renewed. Replacing the SIM card or MMI hardware or performing the SVM recovery activation will not remedy the concern. |
| A011544 2041944- | 2017-11-17. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. The MIL is on and/or glow plug light on. DTCs are stored in the ECM. No relevant component or electrical problems are found when Guided Fault Finding (GFF) is run on the stored fault codes. Cars exhibiting the issue outlined in this TSB will also show a pattern in the DTC expanded ambient conditions under the P200200 fault code. Soot mass measured value above 40 g. Soot mass calculated value approximately 30 g. Kilometers since last regeneration value are above 500,000 m. The current ECM software does not accurately detect a momentary rise in DPF backpressure, resulting in a soot overload fault. |
| A011542 2041787- | 2017-11-17. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. DTCs are stored in the ECM. There may be soot buildup on the moveable elements of the pressure sensing glow plug (PSG). |
| A901557 2042121- | 2017-11-17. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:SOFTWARE. The head-up display will not power on or does not work. | A171568 2028440- | 2017-11-17. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM: INSTRUMENT CLUSTER/PANEL; FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE:STORAGE:TANK ASSEMBLY. Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 17 number 14-49 dated April 3, 2014. When the vehicle is completely refueled, the vehicle range (?distance to empty?) that is displayed is different than the vehicle range that was displayed the last time the vehicle was completely refueled. The displayed vehicle range drops inconsistently. After the vehicle is refueled, the displayed vehicle range does not change for a long period of time. When the vehicle is driven on hilly roads for a long period of time, the displayed vehicle range suddenly changes by a significant amount. There are no DTCs related to fuel senders stored in the instrument cluster control module, J285 (address word 17). This condition does not involve or affect the accuracy of the fuel level indicator, but only the estimated distance to empty display on the on-board computer. |
| A971552 2042450- | 2017-11-17. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. A rattling noise is heard from the right dash panel area when the car is driven with light acceleration (between 15 mph and 25 mph). The bracket for the starter motor wiring harness has a locating tab that can vibrate. |
| A701550 2029280- | 2017-11-17. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM: INSTRUMENT CLUSTER/PANEL. Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 70 number 15-45 dated April 15, 2015. The customer may report hearing noises from the upper dashboard area when driving on poor roads, making phone calls, or playing music. The noise can be caused by unfavorable tolerances between the instrument panel speaker and the center speaker trim. A speaker that has been incorrectly installed can make the condition worse. Because there is no attachment to the trim carrier in the speaker cut-out, this area is the likely source of the vibration. |
