This condition does not lead to any handling concerns or loss of vehicle control. The customer feels the vibration in one or both of the following circumstances: * When driving at highway speeds from 55 - 80 mph (88 - 128 km/h). * When applying low brake pedal pressure with minor slow down. The vibrations felt by the customer could be a result of the harmonic vibrations caused by the radial force variation (RFV) of the tires. |
| A441340 2027779- | 2017-10-31. Service bulletin. STEERING. Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 48 number 12-33 dated October 22, 2012. After replacing the electromechanical steering with the control unit J500, the unit cannot be coded via SVM spec/actual. All new replacement power steering control units (J500) must be coded and parameterized using online SVM spec/actual or an SVM code. If the SVM spec/actual returns a response of ?Check Hardware?, then the SVM code is required to code and parameterize the new replacement control unit. The SVM code can be found in Parts Bulletin 9-97, which is available online through ETKA. |
| A421319 2029953- | 2017-10-31. Service bulletin. STRUCTURE:BODY:ROOF AND PILLARS. Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 42 number 12-15 dated October 12, 2012. | A171344 2035463- | 2017-10-31. Service bulletin. ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING. In order to provide effective lubrication and cooling of internal engine components, all internal combustion engines consume a certain amount of engine oil. Oil consumption varies from engine to engine, and may change significantly over the life of the engine. Typically, engines with specified break-in periods consume more oil during the break-in period, and the oil consumption will stabilize after the break-in period. Refer to the Owner?s Manual for specific break-in procedures. Under normal conditions, the rate of oil consumption depends on the quality and viscosity of the oil, the RPM at which the engine is operated, and the ambient temperature and road conditions. Additional factors include the amount of oil dilution from water condensation or fuel residue and the oxidation level of the oil. Utilizing the advanced sensor technology integrated in models equipped with the 3.0 TFSI engine, it is possible to measure oil consumption electronically via a Guided Function test plan. If the electronic oil consumption test is not available for this model, perform the test with the conventional scale/oil weighing method. See TSB 2018550 for instructions for the conventional scale/oil weighing method. |
| A011334 2033919- | 2017-10-31. Service bulletin. ENGINE. Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 01 number 13-26 dated August 29, 2013. MIL on. DTCs are stored in the engine control module. There may be slight power reduction at high RPMs. One of the vacuum actuators on intake runner bank 1 or bank 2 is defective. It is possible that the membrane on the vacuum actuator may tear. As a result, the intake manifold flaps do not function. |

When the vehicle is started, the GPS location or vehicle direction indicated on the MMI navigation map does not match the vehicle?s actual location or direction of travel for a long period of time (often as long as 10 minutes). The issue occurs in open sky, with no large buildings obstructing the sky view. The issue is intermittent, but it can occur for long periods of time during a single day. The issue typically happens on very warm days when the HVAC system blower is at a medium to high setting (auto or manual), with air being directed out of the panel vents. When the issue occurs, the GPS navigation system satellite reception shows 0 satellites. Due to the infrequency of the issue, this might not be verifiable. (To view the number of satellites being received, go to Nav >> Route >> Select Current Position (first item in list) and scroll up. No DTCs related to the GPS antenna or MMI system are present. The vehicle is an A4 (including S4 and allroad variants), A5 (including Cabriolet, S5, and RS 5 variants), A6 (including S6 variant), A7 (including S7/RS 7 variants), A8 (including long wheelbase, S8, or W12 variants) or Q5 (including SQ5 and hybrid variants). Q7 and Q3 vehicles are not affected by this condition. The failure can happen at start-up or while the vehicle is being driven. The issue typically starts when the vehicle is driven on curvy or circular roads, driven in circles (such as when driven around a parking lot), or driven on or off an expressway. |
| A911500 2039515- | 2017-10-27. Service bulletin. EQUIPMENT:OTHER:OWNERS/SERVICE/OTHER MANUAL. Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 91 number 15-85 dated May 15, 2015. | A901555 2030193- | 2017-10-27. Service bulletin. BACK OVER PREVENTION: CAMERA SYSTEM. Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 90 number 12-31 dated July 16, 2012. Customer states all or part of the picture generated from the top view camera system has an unnatural hue. To achieve a natural-looking top view camera image, the camera system constantly adjusts the displayed colors based on environmental conditions. In certain lighting conditions, the system responds to vibrant nearby colors (from the vehicle or other objects) by automatically adding a complementary color to rebalance toward white, which can lead to color deviations. For example, a red object can cause the system to add a green hue. The strength of the added color depends on the brightness of the object and the ambient light. |
| A871564 2010146- | 2017-10-27. Service bulletin. EQUIPMENT ADAPTIVE/MOBILITY. Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 87 number 15-63 dated May 18, 2015. There is an unpleasant, musty odor coming from the heating and ventilation system. The odor usually occurs when the vehicle has been sitting unused for five hours or more. The odor usually occurs within 20 to 60 seconds after the vehicle is started. Condensation, which is a normal condition in all A/C systems, can cause a musty odor. |
| A171563 2038129- | 2017-10-27. Service bulletin. ENGINE. Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 17 number 14-53 dated November 7, 2014.
