Part or all of the daytime running lights do not work on vehicles with LED DRLs. For vehicles with halogen DRLs, please reference TSB 2017488, 94 Halogen Daytime running lights do not work. In the past, the daytime running light bulbs were a serviceable part. In this application, the LED strip cannot be replaced, and may have an associated control module. This TSB is for servicing information only.
A941297 2028947-2017-11-08. Service bulletin. EQUIPMENT; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM; EXTERIOR LIGHTING:HEADLIGHTS. Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 94 number 12-86 dated August 15, 2012. The warning is typically associated with the activation of the static cornering light during low speed turns, or when the turn signal is activated while at a stop. The fault disappears shortly after the cornering light turns off. Entries are logged in J519 (09 ? central electrics unit control unit). Only vehicles with full LED headlights (PR No 8EX or 8EY) are affected. Both headlights remain fully functional during this complaint and still comply with all applicable FMVSS standards. Software within the LED control module incorrectly calculates the current intensity of the headlight LEDs, leading to the DTC.
A241245 2029340-2017-11-08. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 24 number 12 ? 35 dated August 1, 2012. MIL on with one or more DTCs. DTC P112800 and/or P113000 or P008700 or P244000 and/or P244200 in ECM.
A271215 2031145-2017-11-08. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 27 number 12-14 dated October 12, 2012. Complaints are reported by the customer regarding electrical features and functions in the vehicle. One or more warning lights on in cluster. The DIS or other displays in cluster are blank. MMI does not function. Windows do not function. LED indicators in various buttons inside the vehicle do not light up. The voltage regulator on the alternator can sporadically fail causing the electrical system to experience too high of voltage. As a result, the affected vehicle electronic components go in to high voltage protection and deactivate sensitive displays and indicators to prevent electrical damage. When an over voltage condition occurs the vehicle electronics and alternator are protected, thus there is no need to replace the entire alternator assembly.
A461226 2031135-2017-11-08. Service bulletin. LANE DEPARTURE; PARKING BRAKE; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. The customer may state the yellow warning for electric parking brake (EPB) appeared once in the instrument cluster, but the warning turned OFF after cycling the ignition and there have been no additional occurrences. The customer may state the adaptive cruise control (ACC) was inoperative once, but resumed operating properly after cycling the ignition and there have been no additional occurrences. DTC is stored in the EPB module. Internal code Param_InterFaultID 24 or 25 may be in the extended environmental conditions. The concern is due to a software glitch in the EPB control module. Concerns related to this software glitch can only occur once. Replacing the EPB module may cause an additional occurrence.
A481234 2029622-2017-11-08. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM; STEERING. Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 48 number 12-27 dated May 29, 2012. The yellow steering symbol is illuminated in the instrument cluster. A DTC C10ACFO ? steering end stops not programmed is stored in address word 44 power steering (J500). The steering control unit J500 expects to receive a VIN message over the data bus shortly after terminal 15 is turned on. If the VIN message is not received at the expected time, the J500 assumes it has been installed in a new vehicle and discards the programmed end position values.
A571276 2030580-2017-11-08. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 57 number 12 ? 68 dated August 20, 2012. The vehicle cannot be started sporadically. The yellow gearbox warning light may be illuminated. Entries are logged in the respected modules. The remote key the customer is using is transmitting incomplete immobilizer information to the vehicle; resulting in the condition.
A901235 2030903-2017-11-08. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM; LANE DEPARTURE. Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 90 number 12 ? 34 dated September 21, 2012. When driving, various warning lights come on, sometimes with restricted functions in the electric system. These complaints only occur together with complaints or a failure of the MMI 3G+ infotainment system. After an ignition cycle the complaint is typically gone; therefore, it may not be reproducible. Sporadic DTCs may be present for communication errors, restricted functions, or missing/incorrect messages. If the MMI 3G+ has an issue, the data bus control unit (Gateway) tries to maintain the communication to the MMI. The load on the unit is so high that other messages on the bus systems cannot be processed any more. As a remedy, modified software can be installed on the Gateway which does not communicate to the MMI 3G+ when it is unavailable.
A911263 2021151-2017-11-08. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM; EQUIPMENT:APPLIANCE:AIR CONDITIONER. Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 91 number 11 ? 83 dated April 15, 2011. The customer may report that the illumination of the dash insert, the air conditioning control panel or the inside light flickers when briefly pressing the accelerator in P or N or when shifting down while driving downhill. Only vehicles with PR number 8GH may be affected. When high electricity consumers are switched off and the battery is fully charged, the energy generated by the alternator is sometimes too great for the power system to absorb. This may lead to briefly increased voltage, and the lights mentioned above may briefly flicker. This characteristic is caused by the alternator design and is a normal condition of the vehicle.
A911265 2030465-2017-11-08. Service bulletin. EQUIPMENT:ELECTRICAL:RADIO/TAPE DECK/CD ETC.; EQUIPMENT; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 91 number 12-59 dated September 24, 2012. MMI system randomly freezes and/or resets. DVD Changer playback inoperative after bus sleep (A8 only). HD Radio does not playback in stereo. HD Radio experiences poor blending between digital and analog signals. Google Earth does not properly update the maps after leaving an area of 2G or poor cellular reception. The lower MMI display flickers when an iPod is connected and the Function or Settings menu is selected and the vehicle is stationary. Bluetooth® will not automatically reconnect to certain iPhone models after vehicle sleep. Surround settings are lost after ignition cycle (vehicles equipped with BOSE® sound systems only). This bulletin only applies to vehicles with Navigation Plus (PR Number 8DY). The applicable vehicles can be clearly identified by the SIM card slot on the faceplate of the front MMI mainunit. Continual improvements to MMI software provides solutions to issues experienced in the field.
A961244 2028809-2017-11-08. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM; EQUIPMENT. Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 96 number 12-41 dated August 1, 2012. Customer complains that Audi Side Assist is providing false warnings (no vehicle is present). Concern may or may not be duplicated. No DTCs are present in the Audi Side Assist system. Software fault.
Dealer Letter -2017-11-08. Service bulletin. STEERING; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. This communication is to inform you of Update 48K4. On Audi vehicles with electromechanical power steering manufactured within a specific period, an irregularity detected by the diagnosis function can result in an implausible status immediately after the engine is started. This causes the warning lamp for the electromechanical power steering to light up. There is no loss of steering functionality. Update the power steering control module (J500) software.
A011260 2030580-2017-11-08. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 57 number 12-76 dated October 4, 2012. The vehicle cannot be started sporadically. The yellow gearbox warning light may be illuminated. DTC's are logged. The remote key the customer is using is transmitting incomplete immobilizer information to the vehicle; resulting in the condition.
A011261 2027732-2017-11-08. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM; ENGINE. Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 01 number 12-59 dated November 20, 2012. MIL on. DTC P0456 (very small EVAP leak) stored in ECM. No leaks found in the EVAP system. Software update needed.
A011262 2029340-2017-11-08. Service bulletin. EXTERIOR LIGHTING; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 24 number 12-45 dated October 1, 2012. MIL on with one or more DTCs. The faults listed can occur under certain driving conditions. This is caused by an incorrect software setting. In some scenarios such as extended idling or heavy stop and go traffic, this could cause a slight misinterpretation of the data and possibly an activation of the Malfunction Indicator Light.
A011263 2031458-2017-11-08. Service bulletin. ENGINE; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 01 number 12-58 dated November 5, 2012. MIL on, with DTCs stored in the 01 (Engine Control Module). Under extreme driving conditions, such as a driving profile of mainly short distance (stop and go) driving high crankcase pressure can lead to the above described DTC codes. By changing the crankcase pressure valve to a lower operating pressure this condition can be improved and eliminate the mentioned possible DTC codes. Along with the crankcase pressure being lowered, a new ECM software level is required to compensate for new crankcase pressure.
A371277 2029027-2017-11-08. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM; POWER TRAIN. Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 37 number 12-67 dated September 28, 2012. Customer may report gearbox warning light on. In some cases after starting vehicle and placing into gear the vehicle would not move. After key cycle the vehicle drives without restriction. The entry P060A00 with DFCC 8692 can be logged in the following situation: After selecting Neutral, a driving mode (D or R) is selected within one second while the vehicle rolls (at under 2 mph). This can, for example, happen when maneuvering the vehicle into or from a parking area. The entry P060A00 with DFCC 8694 can be logged when quickly changing from P-N because of a low diagnosis threshold. The entry P060A00 with DFCC 12480 can be logged because of a low diagnosis threshold when changing gear with the tip function.
A901238 2032113-2017-11-08. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM; EQUIPMENT. The customer may state that the outside ambient temperature display is incorrect. To achieve a smoothening effect of the displayed outside ambient temperature, the value shown does not instantaneously follow the temperature sensor measurement. The display will not change faster than 4° F (2° C) per minute. This concept applies to both falling and rising temperatures. A programming strategy is also implemented to avoid incorrect readings on a parked vehicle, due to the temperature sensor being affected by outside influences such as radiant heat from the engine bay, elevated road surface temperatures, etc.
A911270 2032240-2017-11-08. Service bulletin. EQUIPMENT; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM; EQUIPMENT:OTHER:OWNERS/SERVICE/OTHER MANUAL. The Google Earth map will not load. The display shows an active data connection, and ? Google? is almost fully white. Customer has active Audi Connect subscription. All other Audi Connect functions operate normally. The concern only occurs if the vehicle is started in a 2G cellular zone. The system operates normally if started in a 3G cellular zone. The vehicle has MMI software 0566 installed. Certain Audi Connect partner carriers are transmitting data that is not supported by the MMI. The data disrupts the loading process of Google Earth and causes it to not completely load.
Dealer Letter -2017-11-08. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:SOFTWARE. This communication is to inform you that Update 48K4 has been closed. We have turned off visibility for this Update while an alternate software solution is being developed.
