A871342 2020124-2017-11-17. Service bulletin. EQUIPMENT:APPLIANCE:AIR CONDITIONER; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:12V/24V/48V BATTERY. Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 87 number 12-37 dated November 16, 2012. Air conditioning is inoperative. The HVAC blower functions normally. Battery discharged; however, when charged, there is no bus silence when vehicle ignition is off. The A/C pressure/temperature sensor, G395, leaks refrigerant. This causes sensor G395 to show an incorrect or implausible value when reading MVBs. An incorrect signal or a low refrigerant level in the system can cause the air conditioning compressor to deactivate. The LIN cable connecting the vehicle electrical system control module, J519, to sensor G395 is pinched or cut. This affects the A4/S4, A5/S5 Coupe and Cabriolet, and Audi Q5 vehicles. The A6 and A8 are not affected by this type of failure. The pressure sensor G395/G65 sends an incorrect signal that prevents bus silence and the battery is discharged. Sensor G395 is a LIN slave of the vehicle electrical system control module. The vehicle electrical system control module transfers the information provided by the sensor via the comfort data bus to the climate control module, J255.
A911387 2024683-2017-11-17. Service bulletin. EQUIPMENT:ELECTRICAL:NAVIGATIONAL SYSTEM(GLOBAL POSITIONING SYSTEM). Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 91 number 10-68 dated October 26, 2010. The MMI control knob joystick is loose or has fallen off. Only vehicles with navigation and without MMI touch are affected.
A011258 2031458-2017-11-08. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. MIL on, with one or more DTCs stored in the 01 (Engine Control Module). Under extreme driving conditions, such as a driving profile of mainly short distance (stop and go) driving high crankcase pressure can lead to the above described DTC codes. By changing the crankcase pressure valve to a lower operating pressure this condition can be improved and eliminate the mentioned possible DTC codes. Along with the crankcase pressure being lowered, a new ECM software level is required to compensate for new crankcase pressure.
A171233 2030197-2017-11-08. Service bulletin. ENGINE. Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 10 number 12-09 dated October 1, 2012. Engine oil consumption too high. In order to provide effective lubrication and cooling of internal engine components, all internal combustion engines consume a certain amount of engine oil. Oil consumption varies from engine to engine and may change significantly over the life of the engine. Typically engines with specified break-in periods consume more oil during the break-in period, and the oil consumption will stabilize after the break-in period. Refer to the Owner? s Manual for specific break-in procedures. Under normal conditions, the rate of oil consumption depends on the quality and viscosity of the oil, the RPM at which the engine is operated, the ambient temperature, and road conditions. Additional factors are the amount of oil dilution from water condensation or fuel residue and the oxidation level of the oil. Under certain driving conditions internal engine pressure conditions in the 3.0 TFSI engine can negatively influence the rate of oil consumption. This condition can occur while the vehicle is operated in metro driving conditions, for example: Stop and go traffic with extended idle periods.
A261215 2026528-2017-11-08. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 26 number 12-10 dated March 30, 2012. MIL on. DTC P0491 and P0492 (Secondary Air System Insufficient Flow, Bank 1/2) are stored at the same time. Mileage greater than 20,000 miles.
A401227 2024318-2017-11-08. Service bulletin. SUSPENSION:FRONT:WHEEL BEARING. Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 40 number 12-26 dated September 26, 2012. Clicking or clacking noise when maneuvering or parking. Normal driving dynamics may cause microscopic movements between the wheel bearing and wheel bearing housing.
A871237 2020124-2017-11-08. Service bulletin. EQUIPMENT:APPLIANCE:AIR CONDITIONER; VISIBILITY:DEFROSTER/DEFOGGER/HVAC SYSTEM; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 87 number 12-32 dated September 5, 2012. Air conditioning is inoperative. The HVAC blower functions normally. Battery discharged; however, when charged, there is no bus silence when vehicle ignition is off. The A/C Pressure/Temperature Sensor G395 leaks refrigerant. This causes Sensor G395 to show an incorrect or implausible value when reading MVBs. An incorrect signal or a low refrigerant level in the system can cause the air conditioning compressor to deactivate. The LIN cable connecting the J519 Central Electrics Control unit to Sensor G395 is pinched or cut. Sensor G395 is a LIN slave of Vehicle Electrical System Control Module J519. Vehicle Electrical System Control Module J519 transfers the information provided by the sensor via the comfort data bus to Climate Control Module J255.
A011256 2031368-2017-11-08. Service bulletin. FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. MIL on. Engine misfire. Poor performance. Unnecessary High Pressure Fuel Pumps replacement due to Guided Fault Finding test plans not being performed or interrupted when the following DTC?s are present in the engine control module.
A101209 2030197-2017-11-08. Service bulletin. ENGINE. Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 10 number 12 ? 08 dated September 5, 2012. This condition can occur while the vehicle is operated in metro driving conditions, for example: Stop and go traffic with extended idle periods.
A151225 2031085-2017-11-08. Service bulletin. ENGINE; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. MIL on. DTCs for the cam actuators are stored in ECM memory. After the activation of the cam actuator to change to the other cam profile, the pin of the actuator is pushed back in by the cam. This is confirmed by a voltage impulse, which is registered by the engine control unit and confirms the operation. If this does not happen, or not at the right time, a DTC "implausible signal" is saved in ECM memory. Check the distance of the pin tip of the cam actuator for valve lift system to the camshaft when it is not operated with a gauge. The measurement of the tip to the basic camshaft circle outside of the groove must be taken. If this measurement is 0.9mm, the actuator 06E103697J must be installed. The actuator 06E103697J must only be used, if the measurement is 0.9mm or bigger.
A571278 2031413-2017-11-08. Service bulletin. SEATS; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. The seat memory does not work. The MMI displays that the memory function is not active. The seat memory control unit can be deactivated due to voltage fluctuations in the vehicle? s power system, or from a large static discharge through the seat cover. If the seat memory control unit is deactivated due to the above mentioned influences, the control unit cannot be reactivated through any vehicle controls, vehicle keys, or through the normal GFF test plans. It can only be reactivated with special test plans within the tester.
A571279 2018737-2017-11-08. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM; EQUIPMENT. Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 57 number 10-32 dated September 9, 2010. Customer may complain that the vehicle locks itself when removing the key from the ignition lock. When removing the ignition key from the ignition, the customer may unintentionally operate the lock button of the remote key. With the S contact in the ignition lock off (key is removed), the central locking will resume to respond to signals from the remote key. MVB 17 in electric control unit address $46 (Comfort System Central Control Module) can be used for argumentation. The last received central locking command is stored in this MVB. A value of ?2? indicates a locking command last sent from the remote key. With the Autolock feature, MVB 17 is overwritten. Therefore MVB 17 must be read immediately after the complaint.
A911262 2024323-2017-11-08. Service bulletin. BACK OVER PREVENTION. Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 91 number 10 - 60 dated September 28, 2010. A911263 2021151-2017-11-08. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM; EQUIPMENT:APPLIANCE:AIR CONDITIONER. Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 91 number 11 ? 83 dated April 15, 2011. The customer may report that the illumination of the dash insert, the air conditioning control panel or the inside light flickers when briefly pressing the accelerator in P or N or when shifting down while driving downhill. Only vehicles with PR number 8GH may be affected. When high electricity consumers are switched off and the battery is fully charged, the energy generated by the alternator is sometimes too great for the power system to absorb. This may lead to briefly increased voltage, and the lights mentioned above may briefly flicker. This characteristic is caused by the alternator design and is a normal condition of the vehicle.
A911264 2031367-2017-11-08. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM; EQUIPMENT:ELECTRICAL:RADIO/TAPE DECK/CD ETC.; EQUIPMENT. CD or DVD disks do not automatically change from one to the next in the external CD or DVD changer. The CD and DVD changer have different operating concepts. MMI3G: Disks in the CD changer are always automatically changed from one to the next. MMI3G+ (with Audi connect): Disks in the CD changer are automatically changed from one to the next, but this operation is disabled when the Repeat option is turned on in the Media Settings menu. By default (MMI factory default setting) the repeat option is set to ? Off?. DVD changer (A8 only): Disks in the DVD changer can only be changed manually.
A941292 2012749-2017-11-08. Service bulletin. EXTERIOR LIGHTING. Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 94 number 11-52 dated October 11, 2011. Condensation is visible on the inside of the headlight, taillight, fog light, side marker light, front turn signal, daytime running lights, or third brake light lens. Damp air settles on the inside of a cold lens, which creates condensation. The headlight circulation system allows air from the outside to flow through the headlights. This open waterprotected ventilation system (needed for pressure compensation) creates different climate zones in the headlight: very warm areas, where the lens is warmed up by the light, and relatively cool areas, where the lens is cooled own by the air flow. Considerable differences in humidity and temperature between the inside and the outside of the headlights, even while driving, can lead to condensation. This is especially true in cold and wet weather, but it can also happen after a car wash, after steam cleaning the engine or the front end, with overnight temperature changes, etc. This phenomenon is more visible on lenses made of clear glass than on lenses with patterns. The moisture does not affect the headlight function (light performance) and does not lead to corrosion or other damage to headlight parts.
A011263 2031458-2017-11-08. Service bulletin. ENGINE; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 01 number 12-58 dated November 5, 2012.
A171234 2030197-2017-11-08. Service bulletin. EQUIPMENT; ENGINE. Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 17 number 12-33 dated November 21, 2012. This condition can occur while the vehicle is operated in metro driving conditions, for example: Stop and go traffic with extended idle periods.
A901238 2032113-2017-11-08. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM; EQUIPMENT. The customer may state that the outside ambient temperature display is incorrect. To achieve a smoothening effect of the displayed outside ambient temperature, the value shown does not instantaneously follow the temperature sensor measurement. The display will not change faster than 4° F (2° C) per minute. This concept applies to both falling and rising temperatures. A programming strategy is also implemented to avoid incorrect readings on a parked vehicle, due to the temperature sensor being affected by outside influences such as radiant heat from the engine bay, elevated road surface temperatures, etc.
A941200 2024877-2017-11-08. Service bulletin. EQUIPMENT; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM; EXTERIOR LIGHTING:HEADLIGHTS. Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 94 number 12-83 dated July 9, 2012. Warning light for dynamic headlight range control is displayed in the instrument cluster. DTC 00003 / 14 (Control unit faulty) is registered in the dynamic headlight range control unit, address word 55. Both headlights function normally. Vehicles equipped with adaptive (cornering) lighting. New software version 0010 in the dynamic headlight range control module addresses this condition. If the headlight range control module has a software version lower than 0010 installed, then use the SVM code listed in Service to update the module. Some control units will already have software version 0010 installed but can still exhibit the conditions mentioned above. When this occurs, the software will need to be reflashed using a separate SVM code. The corrupt software will be overwritten. The software version does not change after the update.
A961485 2027416-2017-11-08. Service bulletin. EQUIPMENT ADAPTIVE/MOBILITY. Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 96 number 13-61 dated May 28, 2013.
