Service bulletins for the 2013 Audi A5

A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

011382203321142023-01-03. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM; VISIBILITY:DEFROSTER/DEFOGGER/HVAC SYSTEM. Technical Background: Under extreme driving conditions (e.g. long idle periods or extended stop and go traffic), high temperatures build up in the rail system and can lead to steam bubbles in the fuel. This causes temporary drops in fuel pressure, causing DTC P008700 (fuel rail pressure too low) to be stored. Freeze frame data will indicate those extreme driving conditions: coolant temperature is above 102? C. Production Solution: Software to optimize the cooling strategy to solve this issue is currently in development.
011339203534822023-01-03. Service bulletin. ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING; VISIBILITY:DEFROSTER/DEFOGGER/HVAC SYSTEM; FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE. Under extreme driving conditions with the A/C compressor switched off (e.g., long idle periods or extended stop-and-go traffic), high temperatures can build up in the fuel rail and may lead to fluctuations in fuel pressure, possibly causing DTC P008700 to be stored. Coolant temperature above 102?C in the freeze frame data can be an indicator of those extreme driving conditions.

A871679 2041717-2018-03-13. Service bulletin. ENGINE; ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING; EQUIPMENT:APPLIANCE:AIR CONDITIONER. This bulletin applies to any repair that requires replacement of the air conditioning compressor and details how to run a ODIS GFF test plan.
A871567 2041717-2018-02-05. Service bulletin. EQUIPMENT:APPLIANCE:AIR CONDITIONER. Customer may report poor performance of A/C system or that the A/C system is inoperative. Any replacement of A/C compressors must include an ODIS GFF test plan confirming a malfunction of the A/C system with documentation of the recovered refrigerant volume.
A871569 2020124-2018-02-05. Service bulletin. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:12V/24V/48V BATTERY; EQUIPMENT:APPLIANCE:AIR CONDITIONER. Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 87 number 14-49 dated April 25, 2014. Air conditioning is inoperative. The HVAC blower functions normally. Battery discharged; however, when charged, there is no bus silence when vehicle ignition is off. The A/C pressure/temperature sensor, G395, leaks refrigerant. This causes sensor G395 to show an incorrect or implausible value when reading MVBs. An incorrect signal or a low refrigerant level in the system can cause the air conditioning compressor to deactivate. The LIN cable connecting the vehicle electrical system control module, J519, to sensor G395 is pinched or cut. This affects the A4/S4, A5/S5 Coupe and Cabriolet, and Q5 vehicles. The A6 and A8 are not affected by this type of failure. The pressure sensor G395/G65 sends an incorrect signal that prevents bus silence and the battery is discharged. Sensor G395 is a LIN slave of the vehicle electrical system control module. The vehicle electrical system control module transfers the information provided by the sensor via the comfort data bus to the climate control module, J255.
A871447 2010146-2017-12-14. Service bulletin. EQUIPMENT:APPLIANCE:AIR CONDITIONER. Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 87 number 12-27 dated April 24, 2012. There is an unpleasant, musty odor coming from the heating and ventilation system. The odor usually occurs when the vehicle has been sitting unused for five hours or more. The odor usually occurs within 20 to 60 seconds after the vehicle is started. Condensation, which is a normal condition in all A/C systems, can cause a musty odor. If the odor is noticeable in the vehicle when the engine is not turned on, the cause may be mold and mildew in the passenger compartment, and not be related to the A/C system. All other possible sources of the odor must be investigated before this bulletin can be performed.
A901451 2021151-2017-12-05. Service bulletin. EQUIPMENT:APPLIANCE:AIR CONDITIONER. Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 91 number 12-63 dated October 4, 2012. The customer may report flickering of the dash insert lighting, of the A/C control panel lighting, or of the inside light. The condition occurs when the accelerator is pressed while the vehicle is in P or N, or when the vehicle is shifted down when moving downhill. Only vehicles with PR number 8GH may be affected. When high electricity consumers are switched off when the battery is fully charged, the energy generated by the alternator is sometimes too great for the power system to absorb. This may lead to briefly-increased voltage, causing the lights to flicker.
