Service bulletins for the 2010 Audi A4

A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

Steering wheel oscillation at highway speeds (typically between 70 and 85 mph). No vibration in the seat surface or other vehicle components. Audi original equipment tires are installed on the vehicle. If necessary, TSB 2022179 has been completed and the 1st harmonic of radial force of every tire and wheel assembly is below 18 lbs. at a tire pressure of 36 PSI (2.5 bar). Ride disturbances such as uneven roads, wheel imbalance, impermissibly high radial forces of the tires, or other rotating components on the front of the vehicle are transmitted to the steering wheel as a vibration or oscillation.

DTCs are stored in the ABS control module. This condition does not result in any drivability concerns. The steering system is fully connected. The insulation for the ABS wheel speed sensor is damaged in production. Over time, this can lead to corrosion on the wires and restricted functions with the ABS control module. Only the wires in the left bulkhead grommet are affected.

This TSB is only intended for diagnostic purposes and does not serve as a guideline for determining warrantable conditions. Customer may report that the steering wheel vibrates or pulsates when the brakes are applied. driving style, environmental conditions, and service history of the vehicle. Additionally, as brake pads and discs wear, their dampening ability is reduced. Disc thickness variation (DTV) is a common condition that contributes to brake pulsation. DTV occurs when the two braking surfaces of the brake disc are no longer parallel to each other. This condition cannot be accurately measured with normal workshop tools.
A401548 2042603-2017-11-17. Service bulletin. STEERING. When the vehicle is driven between 35 mph and 75 mph, a noise can be heard in the front of the vehicle.
