2024-03-15. Label. Issue: On certain RV trailers, the compliance label lists incorrect measuring units for the gross axle weight ratings (GAWR). This could lead to overloading of the vehicle and cause poor handling or a tire failure. Safety Risk: Poor handling or a tire failure could cause a loss of control and increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: Airstream will mail a new compliance label to each owner. If you would like help to install the label, you can contact an Airstream dealer to have it installed free of charge.
|---|---|
2024-01-17. Accessories. Issue: On certain RV trailers, the spare tire carrier could break and cause the spare tire to fall from the trailer. Safety Risk: A spare tire that falls from the trailer could create a hazard for other road users and increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: Airstream will notify owners by mail. The corrective actions for this recall are under development. Airstream recommends that you should inspect the spare tire carrier to ensure that it's secure before driving. You should also check it periodically throughout your trip.
2023-09-06. Electrical. Issue: On certain RV trailers, an unused wire for a rooftop air conditioner could separate from its connector. If this happens, the wire could touch the outside of the trailer and energize it. Note: This recall only affects RV trailers that don't have a rooftop-mounted air conditioner. Safety Risk: A trailer body that is energized (has power flowing through it) could create the risk of a shock or electrocution. It could also create the risk of a fire. Corrective Actions: Airstream will notify owners by mail and advise you to bring your RV trailer to a dealership to remove the air conditioner prep wire from the circuit breaker and power converter.
2023-07-28. Electrical. Issue: On a small number of RV trailers, the wire connections for the SmartPlug 30 A shore power inlet could crack. If this happens, the connections could overheat or detach and cause a short circuit. Safety Risk: A short circuit and/or overheated wiring could create the risk of a fire. Corrective Actions: Airstream will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your trailer to a dealership to inspect the SmartPlug 30 A power inlet. If the power inlet has manganese bronze D-rings, the dealer will replace it with one that has aluminum D-rings.
2023-03-24. Accessories. Issue: On certain RV trailers and motorhomes, the aluminum tubes that connect the gas valves to the cooktop burners could crack. If this happens, the tubes could leak propane. Note: This recall only affects RV trailers and motorhomes equipped with a Suburban SDS2 cooktop. Safety Risk: A propane gas leak could create the risk of a fire or explosion. Corrective Actions: Airstream will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your motorhome or RV trailer to a dealership to repair the cooktop. Airstream advises not to use the cooktop until the recall repairs are completed.
