Service bulletins for the 2016 Acura TLX
A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.
251 on file from NHTSA, as of 2026-10-19.

| BTS-151101 V2 | 2021-05-14. Service bulletin. POWER TRAIN:AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION:CONTROL MODULE (TCM/PCM/TECM). Replacement TCMs don’t come with trim data. After installation, you need to run a teach-in (hydraulic pressure characteristic calibration) procedure with the HDS. The problem is that A/T DTC P287C (transmission adaptive values not learned) is set, which prevents teach-in. This happens because the TCM is programmed to look for trim data any time the ignition is cycled. If the TCM doesn’t see that trim data, it sets A/T DTC P287C. If any DTCs are set, the TCM won’t initiate teach-in and, as a result, can’t learn the trim data. It’s a classic catch-22 situation. |

| B17-034 | 2017-09-27. Service bulletin. POWER TRAIN:AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION:CONTROL MODULE (TCM/PCM/TECM); ELECTRICAL SYSTEM; ENGINE. Service bulletin - The MIL comes on with DTC P0430 (front bank catalyst system efficiency below threshold [Bank 2]). The PCM software may misinterpret sensor inputs as a deteriorated catalytic converter. |
| B17-034 | 2017-09-14. Service bulletin. POWER TRAIN:AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION:CONTROL MODULE (TCM/PCM/TECM); ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:SOFTWARE. Service bulletin - The MIL comes on with DTC P0430 (front bank catalyst system efficiency below threshold [Bank 2]). |
| DLR MSG - Acura | 2017-08-10. Service bulletin. POWER TRAIN:AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION:CONTROL MODULE (TCM/PCM/TECM); ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:SOFTWARE; POWER TRAIN:AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION. Dealer message - The METER reflash process for Cross Traffic Monitoring System inadvertently erases the idle characteristics learned by the PCM, and the HDS shows Idle Torque Learning as "Not Completed." The drivability symptoms which can result from this condition range from harsh 2-1 downshift, high rpm at idle, surging coming to a stop, and idle fluctuation. |
| B17-015 | 2017-06-30. Service bulletin. POWER TRAIN:AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION:CONTROL MODULE (TCM/PCM/TECM). SERVICE BULLETIN - THE 8-SPEED DUAL-CLUTCH TRANSMISSION (DCT) HAS A BUMP OR HARD SHIFT WHEN COMING TO A STOP, USUALLY ON THE DOWNSHIFT FROM 2ND TO 1ST. THIS SYMPTOM IS INTERMITTENT AND MAY BE DIFFICULT TO DUPLICATE. |
| B15110B | 2017-05-23. Service bulletin. EQUIPMENT:ELECTRICAL; POWER TRAIN:AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION:CONTROL MODULE (TCM/PCM/TECM). SERVICE NEWS ARTICLE - CAN’T CLEAR MULTIPLE LOSS-OF-COMMUNICATION DTCS? THAT’S BECAUSE YOU MUST FIRST CLEAR ALL DTCS FROM THE TCM. IF THE TCM HAS ANY DTCS SET, IT WON’T COMMUNICATE WITH THE REST OF THE CONTROL UNITS, RESULTING IN MULTIPLE LOSS-OF-COMMUNICATION DTCS. |
