| LI40.10-P-059248 | 2026-07-24. Service bulletin. Complaint Crackling and cracking noise from the outer wheel on the front axle when cornering Cause The noise is generated by a micromovement on the contact surface between the rim and the brake disk (wheel bolt group) and may be intensified by potential soiling. The more lightweight rim (AMG forged rim) transmits the noise louder; in the case of cast rims, the noise is generally not perceptible. This is not a technical defect, but rather a complaint concerning comfort. Safe operation of the vehicle is ensured at all times. Remedy Important note: The operations described below do not represent a permanent remedy in every case. The noise may reoccur again after an indefinite period of time; sanding the rims with abrasive media multiple times is not permissible. Only cleaning using the Hazet tool 4960-160 (recommendation) can be performed without any concerns each time the wheel is changed or if the complaint reoccurs. Replacing the parts (rim, wheel bolts, wheel bearings, wheel hub, brake disk) is not expedient in the event of this complaint. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Clean the components of the wheel bolt connection according to the WIS instructions Sand down the rim and brake disk bowl by performing the following steps: • Manually sand rim (old design only) in area of water drain bores (Figure 1; item A), approx. 1.5 cm left and right of water drain bore (Figure 2) Note: Use abrasive paper with grit size 80. The grooving in this area should no longer be visible (sand down approx. 0.1-0.2mm) • Also sand brake disk bowl using emery cloth or abrasive paper with a grain size of 120 • For vehicles equipped with the AMG ceramic brake system (B07), abrasive paper may not be used for cleaning on the brake disk side Note: Do not use any cleaning agent when cleaning on the rim side. Cleaning using abrasive paper with a grain size of 80 will suffice. Do not apply any grease, lubricant or paste after cleaning The brake disk bowl should be "bare metal" in the area of the imprints made by the hole (Figure 3) |

| LI72.20-P-073139 | 2025-01-31. Service bulletin. Complaint After CAN bus idle, the tailgate may not fully open (opens to approx. 80 %), regardless of opening method (key, switch, hands-free access, etc.). The tailgate can only be fully opened by operating it again, multiple times where necessary, or by manually raising tailgate. Cause Control unit may falsely detect a blockage. Remedy SCN coding of control unit N121/1 - liftgate control. No replacement of parts are required. |
| LI88.60-P-072093 | 2025-01-29. Service bulletin. Complaint Fuel door may require several attempts to open. Please note that if the complaint "Fuel filler flap not opening" occurs, it is important to check the fuel filler flap before replacing the central locking actuator. For gasoline hybrid vehicles where the fuel filler flap fails to open or does so but slowly, observe the document "Fuel filler flap fails to open or does so but slowly on plug-in HYBRID gasoline vehicles"! Cause Central locking actuator may have an electrical fault and may not open. Remedy 1. Car locked: To rule out incorrect operation, operate the fuel filler flap in the area shown in Fig. 1 and listen out for the clicking noise of the microswitch in the central locking actuator. If no clicking can be heard, continue with point 4. 2. Car unlocked: Press area on flap to start the microswitch clicking. Flap opens - show the customer the area to press. 3. Car unlocked: Flap cannot be opened regardless of which area you press. Open the flap by operating the emergency release for the CL actuator (through trunk, fender gap cover, etc, depending on specific vehicle) 4. Central locking actuator pressed directly, no clicking of microswitch, no electrical release of central locking actuator => Clicking of microswitch, electrical release of central locking actuator => Tank filler recess/charging recess not OK; report results via a TIPS case to B/C/E Inbox. 5. Replace central locking actuator; check function of new part before installing it: Do not dispose of damaged part. New central locking actuator does not release: More detailed examination of connector coupling, wiring harness, electrics required. |
| LI72.00-P-071544 | 2025-01-29. Service bulletin. Complaint Paint damage on door paneling in area of door handle (see picture 1). Cause Alignment of door handle bearing bracket is not correct. Remedy 1. Paint the affected area of the door paneling using the spot repair procedure in accordance with the manufacturer's specifications. 2. Replace the door handle, ensuring that the door handle bearing bracket is installed correctly (see picture 2). Note: The optimized door handles are marked as shown in the illustration (see picture 3). |
| LI63.20-P-069056 | 2025-01-29. Service bulletin. Complaint Noise from windshield (WSS) or A-pillar at left area at speeds between 110 - 140 mph (see "Complaint area" attachment). |
| LI77.25-P-073749 | 2024-11-12. Service bulletin. Complaint Rear spoiler sporadically remains in opened position or does not extend and a fault message appears in the instrument cluster. The rear spoiler can then no longer be retracted manually using the button. The function of the rear spoiler is re-established after an ignition reset and the fault message is no longer present in the instrument cluster. Cause Possible causes: • Coding of the AMG DRIVE UNIT for recognition of Hall sensor when retracting rear spoiler. • Hardware tolerances / hardware wear Remedy If new software for the AMG DRIVE UNIT is available, carry out the software update. If the vehicle already has the most current version of the AMG DRIVE UNIT software installed, conduct SCN coding of the AMG DRIVE UNIT. Software remedy: Up to YoM 19/2 -> AMG Drive Unit N145/1 Software A001 902 6208 As of YoM 20/1 up to YoM 20/2 -> AMG Drive Unit N145/1 Software A001 902 6108 As of YoM 21/1 -> AMG Drive Unit N145/1 Software A001 902 6008 Then check the currently learned actual values under the path "DRVU -> Actual values -> Rear wing sensor system": Are the actual values all in the specified range (green): --> Subject the vehicle to a final inspection/test drive and, if the findings report is OK, hand it over to the customer. If the actual values are outside of the specified range (red) or final inspection is not OK: --> Initialize the rear spoiler (if necessary up to 5x) until all values are in the target range (green). If subsequently OK: -> Subject the vehicle to a final inspection/test drive and, if the findings report is OK, hand it over to the customer. If still not OK: -> Check screw connection of rear spoiler adjuster (see attachment 1) for tight seating. If screws loose: -> Bond loose screw (see following steps and attachment 3 to 5). 1. Unscrew screw with Torx TX25 screwdriver from the housing guide. 2. Dip screw in Loctite 603 (at least 3 threads) 3. Screw the screw back into the housing guide with 2 Nm torque. (IMPORTANT: Loctite 603 finger-tight after 8 minutes and cured after 24 hours) 4. Initialize rear spoiler after the curing time. 5. Subject the vehicle to a final inspection/test drive and, if the findings report is OK, hand it over to the customer. If screws tight: -> Create a TIPS case with the following information: 1. When exactly does the fault message appear (at which speed, when accelerating or braking, automatic mode, etc.)? 2. Is the problem sporadic or continuous? 3. Does the fault message disappear following an ignition reset/BUS idle and is the function of the rear spoiler then (momentarily) restored? 4. Is the fault reproducible and if so, how? Attach the following files: 1. Quick test 2. Control unit log for AMG DRIVE UNIT + rear wing (DRVU + HFL) 3. IC event memory 4. Currently learned actual values prior to initialization 5. Currently learned actual values following initialization 6. Power consumption of rear spoiler (XENTRY: Configuration -> Coding -> Coding of power parameter) 7. Photo of the label on the rear spoiler drive (IMPORTANT: Production/manufacturing date of the rear spoiler must be easily readable, for an example see attachment 2) |
