Service bulletin SSM 51539
A bulletin is a manufacturer's communication to its dealers, as NHTSA indexes it. The summary is NHTSA's. The document is the manufacturer's: read it at NHTSA. A bulletin is not a recall, and listing a model year does not mean every vehicle of it is concerned.

NHTSA's summary
Some 2020-2023 Aviator vehicles built on or before 20-March-2023 may exhibit a passenger door window control switch to bezel rattle while audio volume is playing from speakers that could be mistakenly diagnosed as a speaker issue. This may be due to the natural frequencies of the switch and bezel when excited by sound. To diagnose, perform Workshop Manual (WSM) Section 415-00 > Pinpoint Test E1. Use the 100Hz audio sample file from the Speaker Audio Test link within Pinpoint Test E1, and adjust fade and balance settings to passenger front speaker. If the rattle is isolated to the passenger door switch bezel, remove per WSM Section 501-11. Apply Rotunda flock tape (164-R4903) over the underside of the bezel and the switch in a U-shape, then reassemble. Rerun Pinpoint Test E1 to verify the repair. If the rattle persists, perform the remaining Pinpoint Test E steps.

| SSM 54555 | 2026-02-12. Service bulletin. Some 2020-2022-Corsair, 2021-2023 Nautilus, 2020-2024 Navigator/Aviator, and 2021-2024 Mustang Mach-E vehicles equipped with phone-as-a-key may exhibit various phone-as-a-key concerns with diagnostic trouble codes (DTC) U200D:15, U200E:15, U200F:15, B1589:31/49 through B1598:31/49, B1A56:31/49, B1D55:31/49, and/or B15A5:56 stored in the remote function actuator (RFA) module. If any of these DTCs are detected during diagnostics, clear the DTCs, reprogram the RFA to the latest software level and start a new Ford Diagnosis and Repair System (FDRS) session. Verify that DTCs are no longer present. If only the B1589:31/49 through B1598:31/49, B1A56:31/49, B1D55:31/49, and/or B15A5:56 DTCs return in the RFA after a self-test, follow normal Workshop Manual (WSM) diagnostics in Section 419-01. Repair as necessary outside of this article. For claiming, use causal part 14G617 and labor operations 12651D and 12651D4. |

| TSB 24-2044 | 2024-03-07. Service bulletin. This article supersedes TSB 23-2181 to add 2024 vehicle model year. Some 2020-2024 Explorer/Aviator vehicles may exhibit a lack of audio and/or a water leak in the rear liftgate area and/or water in the spare tire area. The customer may indicate that this concern is more noticeable after a car wash or rainfall. To correct the condition, follow the Service Procedure to identify the leak path. |
| SSM 52269 | 2024-02-23. Service bulletin. 2022-2024 Explorer/Aviator vehicles built on or after 28-May-2022, 2022-2024 Expedition/Navigator vehicles built on or after 08-Jun-2022, 2022-2024 Escape vehicles built on or after 01-Jun-2022 and 2022 Corsair vehicles built on or after 01-Jun-2022 are no longer equipped with a hands free liftgate system. The vehicle is not misbuilt. The addition of any parts is not a warrantable repair. Do not submit a claim for this condition. |
| SSM 52264 | 2024-02-23. Service bulletin. Some 2020-2024 Aviator vehicles may exhibit concerns that reqiure loadspace trim panel vent register replacement. The vent register is now available separately (service base part number 19893). It is no longer necessary to replace the entire loadspace trim panel. |
| SSM 51788 | 2023-07-20. Service bulletin. Some 2020-2023 Aviator vehicles built on or before 12-Oct-2022 may exhibit a door ajar or door fault warning message present in the message center with diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) B1175:19, B1176:19, B11C0:19 and/or B11C1:19 present in door latch control module E (DCME), door latch control module F (DCMF), door latch control module G (DCMG) and/or door latch control module H (DCMH). This may be due to low battery voltage and DTC thresholds being too low and not a fault in the door latch assembly. To correct the condition, reprogram and re-configure the the affected module using the latest level of the Ford Diagnosis and Repair System (FDRS). For claiming use causal part 54264A27 and applicable labor times found in Section 10 of the Service Labor Time Standards (SLTS) Manual. |
| SSM 51612 | 2023-05-16. Service bulletin. There is a parts and labor time error for Explorer/Aviator 3.0L EcoBoost and Aviator 3.0L plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV). Ford is in the process of updating TSB 23-2114. Explorer or Aviator with 3.0L EcoBoost or 3.0L PHEV engine require new sub frame bolts and a steering shaft pinch bolt. Aviator will also require suspension nuts and bolts missing from the TSB that are related to halfshaft removal and installation. To complete the repair, follow Workshop Manual (WSM) Section 205-03 > Front Axle Disconnect Actuator (use the 2020 WSM for 2021 Aviator as the procedure for 2021 is currently being updated). Complete the wiring modification per TSB 23-2114. For Explorer 3.0L EcoBoost vehicles, claim operation 232114E 7.2 hours. For Aviator 3.0L EcoBoost and 3.0L PHEV vehicles, claim operation 232114F 7.8 hours. Refer to this article on the repair order. |
| SSM 51536 | 2023-05-04. Service bulletin. For 2000-2024 Ford and Lincoln vehicles, swapping a module from a vehicle for diagnosis purposes is likely to cause errors and is not recommended. It is also not recommended to order a replacement module using a vehicle identification number (VIN) from a different vehicle. Most modules on these affected vehicles are VIN/vehicle specific and hardware variations between modules do exist. Swapping a module from a vehicle or ordering a module using a different vehicle/VIN can cause ineffective repairs and additional vehicle down time. Make sure all appropriate Workshop Manual (WSM) procedures are followed when diagnosing the condition prior to all module replacements and only order modules using the correct VIN. |

| SSM 50810 | 2022-06-01. Service bulletin. Some 2020-2022 Explorer/Aviator vehicles may exhibit an inoperative power liftgate when using intelligent access (IA) features such as the hands free liftgate or when using the outside control button on the liftgate handle when the doors are locked. This may be due to a poor wiring connection at connector C4332 for the rear keyless entry antenna. If these symptoms are present, inspect C4332 (below the liftgate striker) for a poor connection, loose terminals, or improper pin-fit. |
